The project 'Team Up & Reform Netizens - Outdoor Fantastic Fun' was developed in response to needs and goals of the students, teachers and head teachers of the four partner schools from Poland, Romania, Belgium and Latvia. The project will last 24 months (01.09.2017-31.08.2019) and Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace in Nisko (Poland) will be coordinating. The main goals of the project are making students aware of the need to change their free time habits, especially the need to give up mobile devices which may be detrimental to mental and physical health of students, and offering the students diverse forms of free time spending instead. Some other goals chosen by the partner group are as follows: - developing linguistic competences of students and teachers; - improving physical and mental condition of students; - promoting healthy lifestyle; - developing intercultural competence and promoting the attitudes of tolerance, openness, and comprehension among students and teachers; - equalizing educational chances of students from disadvantaged environments and students with special needs. It has been established that the target group will comprise 100 people directly (76 secondary school students aged 16-19, from small towns, spending most of their free time with their mobile devices, avoiding establishing direct contacts with people, passive, with low self-esteem, lacking in confidence, critical, with limited access to cultural institutions; and 16 teachers from the partner schools) and 1200 people indirectly (other teachers and head teachers of the partner schools, parents and the local communities, local councils, all the target audiences of dissemination results). The project will be based on the following activities: - 1 transnational staff meeting in the middle of the project dedicated to summarising the foregoing activities and organising a conference for head teachers and coordinators of partner schools, which will serve as an opportunity for the exchange of good practices - 4 short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (one in each partner school) aimed at familiarizing students with modes of spending free time alternative to mobile devices in the partner countries and developing linguistic, social and intercultural competences of the participants - project management: creating tools for budget control and time management, monitoring and evaluating the quality of the project's activities and results, planning handling project risks, deciding on the indicators of achievement used to assess whether and to what extent, the project reaches its objectives and results - ensuring that the project's results will remain available and will be used by others - dissemination activities - sustainability activities after the end of the EU funding. Methods used during the project will be as follows: demonstration with elements of experience, tasks achievement, integrative methods, creative problem solving tasks, group work, didactic games, evaluative methods, presentations, discussions, workshops, documents, reports and questionnaires analysis. The partner group plans to achieve several results, the most important of which are: - increased awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyle for physical condition and mental health; - openness towards new cultures; - improved linguistic competences of students and teachers; - acquired ability to cooperate in an international peer group effectively and without conflicts; - acquired ability to organise free time in ways other than in front of a screen of a mobile device; - established partnerships among the partner schools; - equalized educational chances of students from disadvantaged environments; - improved image of the partner schools in their local communities. The envisaged impact of the project concerns not only students but also their families, teachers, partner schools and their local communities. The families of the students who will get involved in the project will realise how important skilful use of free time is in life. Contacts with foreigners will enable them to get rid of prejudices and stereotypes and teach them tolerance towards other cultures and religions. Visiting partner schools will help teachers gain more teaching experience and improve their pedagogical competences, especially those connected with modelling appropriate attitudes of students. The partner schools will gain valuable experience, the local institutions will get integrated. The potential longer term benefits are, among others, activating students to undertake activities connected with developing passions and improving mental and physical condition, improving the quality of teaching and pedagogical work of teachers, establishing partnerships among schools, gaining experience in European projects.
