Project summary

Project title: Being United in the EU learning and travelling together Knowledge, acquired competencies, skills and qualifications are highly valued in a contemporary world. For that reason, instilling in children eagerness for learning, developing their interests and boosting their broadmindedness seems to be of crucial importance. The process of learning becomes more effective when a person feels motivated, involved in studying and has a chance of success. This project meets demands of children with poor grades, gifted ones and those who are at risk of social rejection. Our goal is to do our best to develop personalities well adapted to a modern society. During the project students will prepare short films about themselves and their schools, visit a tour agency to survey tour guide duties, act out the role of a tour guide and conduct virtual field trips. ICT workshops on mobilities will allow both students and teachers to learn how to prepare on-line tasks, computer games, websites, mobile apps, teaching aids. Geography workshops will develop navigation and map reading skills. Moreover, attendants will grasp travel safety tips and emergency procedures. Host families will attend a language course and get acquainted with culture and traditions of their guests. Methodology used: - initial phase - preparing tasks, an on-line dictionary with basic dialogues and rules of savoir vivre for host families and participants, conducting language courses (November 2017-February 2018); - implementation phase - mobilities, workshops and performing project tasks (March 2018-September 2019); - closing phase - summing up the results and finishing the project (October 2019). Partnership schools will develop European dimension, improve schools rankings and enhance their prestige. Activities carried out in the project aim to provide long-term benefits - bringing up knowledgeable members of society who will show tolerance and treat others with respect. Project tasks will also pose a challenge to teachers as they should constantly gain further qualifications to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing world. Participating in the project will foster good relations in the teaching staff, develop European workteam skills and shared responsibility for the institution and students entrusted to its care. Open-minded teachers will lead their students to success. Joint learning and travelling will contribute to the process of uniting students in the EU and appreciation of being the EU members.
