Project summary

The European Union's 2020 strategy aims to withdraw the early school leaving under the rate of 10%.Failure is one of the leading reasons for children's school drop-out.One of the most important causes that affect the child's behaviour and school success is the family factor. Because the family atmosphere and relations are not only effective in the child's school success but also in all development phases. Domestic relationships, divorce, death of a family member, the attitudes of the parents against the child, parents ' attitudes towards school and child's school success expectations, child study environment and many other factors affect a child's school success. In this project our priorities are the students having similar problems; motherless or fatherless children, the children whose parents are divorced, antisocial and intravorted children, students who don’t speak in classrooms, actually they abstain from speaking in front of their friends and they don’t want to participate in games and activities, the students who have antisocial personality disorders, the students whose families are in financial difficulties to provide these students with socially, culturally and physchogically. Our aim is to help them to be a part of the society and to raise them to the level of their peers as the same age by supporting them. Our purpose is to teach these disadvantaged students necessary abilities of living , to support them academically and especially,to eliminate their social deficiencies while socializing them. This project "Never Give Up" will support our school management and the staff to tackle with the students who have failure problems at school or have communication problems with their parents ,friends or in their social lives. We are going to ensure to improve the active communication between these children and their parents in order to motivate and support their sustainable lifelong learning process and to avoid these children from early dropout of school. This project will help these students to have the efficiency to express themselves, to have self-confident or to believe in themselves. They will be aware of their skills and they will feel more comfortable and also more encouraged in displaying their talents. They will be more successful both at school and in their social lives. All these good and fertile achievements will affect the school culture positively which will decrease the number of early school drops. The good practises of the project "Never Give Up" will have the sufficient quality which can be applied and sustained in the same associations or schools and also in our partner countries. We aim to prevent early school drops of our students by increasing their learning motivations. .We will provide our students to find out their potentials in order to sustain their lifelong learning process .The school staff will be able to deal effectively with the problems of these students through exchanging good practises and knowledge with the European partners. Final report summary

The European Union's strategy is to minimize the problem of early school leaving. Failure is one of the main reasons why young people drop out of school. The subject of the Never Give Up project is one of the European Union's priorities, but above all it is a response to the needs and specificity of our students' environment. It promotes the idea of lifelong learning, encourages development, supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds and promotes sports and artistic education, dates back to tradition and cultural heritage. Eight schools from six countries cooperated in the project: Poland, Romania, Cyprus, Portugal, Italy and Turkey. The project included activities focused around artistic and sports subjects. The project aimed to make students with less educational opportunities, for whom the school is the only educational and cultural center, be involved, find their place in the school community, discover talents, be motivated to learn foreign languages and other subjects, which will directly affect their development, socialization, self-esteem, and success. The target group were students of older primary school classes (mainly grades 6-8), while due to the nature of the project activities, the whole school communities benefited. Direct participants of the project, who participated in mobility and extracurricular activities, were primarily students with smaller educational opportunities, from incomplete families, from dysfunctional families, and socially withdrawn students. As part of the project, 152 mobility took place, including 63 teacher mobility and 89 student mobility. Over one hundred teachers from all partner schools were involved in the project activities. Together with our partners we have planned tasks to maximize the effectiveness of teaching, involve students with fewer opportunities and increase the attractiveness of our educational offer. We have taken a number of actions at schools, students took part in art competitions and exhibitions, artistic workshops (art, traditional handicrafts, music workshops, theater workshops), we created music groups and theater groups. During sports activities, we discovered traditional sports games of our partner countries. The project language was English. Therefore students and teachers improved their language skills. The fruit of cooperation between the partner schools was an exhibition of artistic works and a brochure containing the students' works with descriptions of the authors of the works, a DVD with music recordings, performances of music bands at the school in Mazzarino (Italy), theatrical performances in English during the meeting in Gorzów Wlkp. (Poland) , international workshop of traditional handicrafts and sports games in Pascani (Romania). Jointly developed materials such as the handicraft catalog and the catalog of sports games were promoted in schools and local institutions. In each partner school there were meetings for parents, conferences and workshops on the role of the family in the child's life. The project was also promoted in local media, during conferences and information meetings on the Erasmus + program. Thanks to the project, the school began to be regarded as a place of interesting meetings, in the local environment, by students, parents and institutions, promoting cooperation, development and strengthening the child's potential.
