As it is mentioned in the Strategy for European cooperation in education and training, spanning until 2020, there are four priorities. Through this project we will focus on two of the most important priorities of strategy such as equality, social cohesion and active citizenship, and creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship Schools involved have identified several common problems in their schools: We have many students facing cultural, ethnic, social and educational challenges and also many migrants/refugees – schools from Sweden, Italy, Greece, Portugal In our schools there are ethnic minorities such as Roma students – in Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Hungarians students in Romania, but also students with learning difficulties and from low educated families. We face with stereotypes against minorities which are dominant and aggressively is balanced against these students in a risk situation A lot of students lack important skills and competences, lack of self-confidence and support, problems of identity, they are in risk situation and these are some of the obstacles they have to overcome to have a successful life The objectives of the project are: - To deal with having an equal right to education in different areas across Europe, integration people with different backgrounds, ethnic minorities, migrants/refugees - To tackle integration and inclusion and avoid early school leaving, because young people need to approach the learning process and acquire of skills and competences in a flexible way - To offer the chance to increase motivation for learning among students from vulnerable groups – such as ethnical minority, religious minority, poor economical and social backgrounds, and immigrants - To create links between all kind of students in our schools and facilitate everyone access to reciprocal knowledge of cultural values The target groups are: students of 15 to 19 years old, teachers, local governments and NGO, other stakeholders. Will be involved more than 100 students and teachers. Dealing with this topic of equality of chances for everyone, we want to promote a greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity. In our project the students will gain a basic knowledge about various cultures and languages not only by working together with partners from other European countries, but also by cooperating and supporting vulnerable people in their local environment. This helps to reduce and prevent tensions between groups from different backgrounds, not only across borders, but also within our own multicultural societies. During the two years of the project we will have 2 transnational project meetings – in December 2017 in Portugal, and in October 2018 in Poland 1 Learning activity Short-term joint staff training events in Sweden in April 2017 4 Short term exchange groups of pupils in Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania Some of the most important learning activities are “Story telling” Non formal method .Telling stories of family immigrant history Italy, Sweden, Greece and Portugal, using the method of “Story telling” will present the history of some immigrants’ students – their cultural backgrounds, ancestors Create a video interview with students of vulnerable groups in each school who face with discrimination, exclusion, marginalization Romania, Poland and Bulgaria will prepare a story telling about a minority Portfolio “Integration and Equal opportunities” Students under the coordination of teachers will prepare a portfolio with statistics, photos, article in media, about integration of people from different backgrounds in their country/community /school The main topic of the meeting is “Equality as a democratic value through centuries and nowadays.
