The transnational youth initiative MWear: Supporting Youth Creativity through Entrepreneurship will be happening from 01.09.2017-31.10.2018 parallel in Amsterdam & Tallinn. Through the project young people of Amsterdam and Tallinn will address pro-active messages and thoughts of young people through creating and promoting a street-wear clothing brand. The initiative is designed to promote entrepreneurial attitude and mix it with a social component in order to produce and promote something meaningful to the young people and relevant to the society. The TYI addresses next needs: 1) active youth groups who want to promote their music group, dance crew, local sports team want to feel as a community and want to have uniforms or some merchandise that would make them seem as a team, crew or group. However in it has been always challenging to find companies willing to invest into this and young people. These groups often do not have access to designers, manufacturers and end up without any result or of a low quality. Feeling part of a community and being noticed is crucial for youth groups it often empowers and motivates to proceed with their activities. 2) young people have a lesser role in the society, where they are not much heard or seen. Many social problems are being worked upon without involving young people. Thus, we want to give them voice through messages on clothes & designs. 3) Also young designers need help in launching and being noticed. They need basic knowledge in marketing & entrepreneurship in order to create something & grow. Thus, the TYI would also help young designers & artists to apply new skills in their own brands. Same as stated in the objectives we see the problem and reason for creating the TYI from both angles, supporting youth groups and also supporting young designers & promoting youth views. The transnational youth initiative aims to promote pro-active opinions of young people through messages & designs on clothes developed by young people themselves as a consequence of a set of workshops & work-labs on the topics of entrepreneurship, marketing, design and social activism. The objectives of the transnational youth initiative are divided into several parts. First part are the objectives we want to reach at the community level: - To empower youth groups and young people by supporting them with custom-made merchandise and cooperation; - To enable young designers to launch their works and build up interest to their creations; - To address the issue of supporting youth groups by companies and enterprises; - To promote active citizenship and active lifestyle of young people by building a community together; - To foster creativity and entrepreneurial attitude in young people; - To promote active citizenship through creativity and development of a clothing line; - To foster understanding in branding and start-up process; - To foster communication between young people. Second part of the objectives are targeting the young people creating the TYI and joining it: - Give young people the tools for designing and creating tangible products; - To educate participants on the topic of brand-creation, marketing, campaigning; - To connect manufacturers, designers and people behind brand with young people through visits and cooperation; - To empower young people from the Russian-speaking community to take an active role in the society. Project participants are expected to finish the project with an understanding of the importance of being active, participating and motivated as well as developing their entrepreneurial skills, that can help them in daily life and future professional and personal development. . Participants will understand the possibilities of such actions and recognize its learning outcomes. With the help of feedback, reflection and evaluation the impact will be seen and understood.
