This project is created with the aim of increasing the students' motivation to learn maths. Its main goal is to make students feel maths as a part of their world. They have to see that it is everywhere around us and the mathematical education that they already have is a solid base for their social, spiritual and professional development. The aim of the project is to also exchange ideas and good practices on how to increase the knowledge of our students. To develop and implement ideas during the project which cultivate key competences which every European citizen should have. In our project, we mainly focus on communication in a foreign language and the digital and cultural competence of our students. The number of partners in the project is 7, with each and every one of them having vast amounts of experience in teaching maths. Mrs Ariana-Stanca Vacaretu holds the "World Aware Education Award" and is the ambassador of Project Scientix in Romania. Partners on the project are secondary schools from Romania, Turkey . A centre for teaching and learning for kids in Romania. Professional schools in Poland and Slovakia. We have set the project activities in which maths is used indirectly in real life events of the students. From calculating the number of participants in mass events, analyzing data from media posts, through fractals and the golden ratio, to the restoration of ancient plates and mosaics. To execute these tasks we rely on Inquiry Based Learnig(IBL), which has increasingly grown in popularity in recent years. This method is a form of active studying in which the progress of the student is evaluated depending on his developed analytic and experimental abilities rather than raw amount of knowledge he has but can't implement in his social and professional development. With the help of this method, modern cloud platform technologies and bilingual teaching approaches, we have aim to further develop the skills and competences of our students, who after graduating from their middle schools, will continue their improvement in areas where mathematical and digital competences will be an important requirement. Our project will cause responses throughout the schools we work in as teachers and the cities we live in. With the help of local medias and educational structures we will popularize the main goals, activities and good practices of our project. All maths teachers, project partners on projects we have taken part of, are currently partnering with, and will continue to work with, will carry on taking part in seminars and conferences in which we will share our efficient practices on teaching mathematics to students, to other teachers. The materials which we will upload to platforms like Scientix, School Education Gateway, will reach teachers all over Europe.
