Project summary

History of Europe has been changing and we want to notice the differences historical events and that is the reason why we set up our project. Drawings in the past and photography now - children find old drawings from own country in local or national galleries and try to find places where these pictures were taken, who and what is in these drawings and after that they try to find changes of countryside via nature drawings, towns, clothes, means of transport, job and via family portrait. Secondly, they compare old times to nowadays. We would like to find not only changing in our surroundings but even via historical events. This event is connected with the year when old drawings were made. We want to encourage a better understanding changing which are among us, historical actions. Our aim is to promote the complete inclusion of students with special needs and gifted students in the micro-society that school represents. The second main part is about finding the oldest relatives. Students give them same questions from their childhood and compare their result with all participating schools. All the time of project we communicate together - students, teachers and improve our language knowledge. The final product is the history art book about our work drawings – photos, historical events and relatives. During the programme, we would like to prepare drawing lectures, photo courses as well as visiting exhibitions in own and other towns. And what is more? Can we have an influence on these changes? Were these ones positives or negatives? Why is it important not to cut off the family roots? What can we learn from the previous generations? 3 schools from 3 different countries will come together via not only art but even and with the topic of international dialogue of European. An active website will be prepared and this will be used in each progress of the project. All schools in this project are keen on it and very eager to cooperate together. We believe that our students will make a new friendship at the end. Being in Europe means being together, work together and find out positive and negative things which were taken and realizing what was bad and what was good. What is more, the relationship between our pupils, teachers, the dialogue between children grandparents will be better, much closer than before. Nowadays we know that teaching and learning are not only at schools, they are outside and we feel that is very motivating for all participants in this project.

Final report summary

We may say that in our project we met the main aim – showing our students that the history was and is changing and sometimes there are positive and sometimes negative events. Drawings always reflects events in this period. So, for this reason students really visited the local or national gallery and started to learn how to understand a picture. Only one thing there was bad – we could not visit everything what we wanted because of virus Covid. So sometimes we offer a virtual visiting of some exhibition. In the power point presentation, there are sometimes events from the date when the drawing was made. So, pupils realized changes in our history not only in own country but in Europe too. At the beginning communication was via Skype but at the end we used Teams. Preparing the virtual meeting was easy at the end, but students were unhappy – they wanted to meet in The Czech Republic. We were able to finish our e book about all themes and published into Erasmus+ platform results and in our web pages too. Students exchanges private messages using WhatsApp – at the beginning it was not mentioned but for them was much mor comfortable then E Twinning. Making a questionnaire with their grandparents was very good. Some of them learned new facts about their relatives, seeing old photos, visiting graves for the first time (some of them). We would like to say, that students learn more outside of school in informal way, they proved what they learned at school – the foreign language, communication skills and using the different attitude for creating new opinion.
