Project summary

Our Erasmus+ project "Folklore is joining us" is focused on the field which makes a part of every nation. The folklore exists in every European country and it constitutes the important part of history and culture. Even if each partner comes from the different state, the folklore traditions have something in common and we want to find the common points. The main goal of our project is to create opportunities for pupils from the partner countries to meet another culture. In view of the fact that Europe is really multicultural, the pupils have to understand this situation and they have to be knowledgeable in it. Other main goals are: - to internationalize the organizations for understanding other cultures, customs which will teach them to be more tolerant and cooperative - to improve English skills for better communication – some pupils have never been in contact with a foreign person and this project can show them the importance of learning a language and motivate them - to experience new experiences which could show them how to react in an unexpected situation - to create and develop a long-lasting partnership that will continue after this project will have finished - to develop problem solving, presentation, decision-making, conflict management, creativity, team-work and solidarity skills - to enrich teachers´ teaching methods and encourage creativity - to exchange methods and inspire innovation in teaching for instance through cooperative learning - to develop new ICT skills -to improve planning and managing skills As for the methodology we will use discussion, which examines the attitudes to the subject matter, provides opportunities for clear expressions, develops team-building skills; round-table discussion, which provides the opportunities for participants to share previous knowledge and experiences of the subject matter, brainstorming, when the participants discover and present their ideas, learn about various ideas and find alternative solutions; or task-based language learning, when the participants use target vocabulary and grammar in order to complete a task, e.g. an on-line exercise. Moreover, we will use team work to support cooperation and comunication among the participants. We will try to involve as many persons as posible from every organisation, approximately more than 30 participants of each school - the pupils, teachers and other school staff, but also parents and local authorities and press - to carry out our outputs and goals. There will be 3 short-term exchanges of group of pupils and 2 short- term joint staff training events, approximatly every 4 months to achieve our aims and objectives. In the periods between the meeting each school will be preparing learning/teaching/training activities to present them at the meetings. Every organization will work on the general outputs of our project such as a project website, photo and video gallery, notice-board of the project, dissemination in the regional media, leaflets, presentation of each school and the education system of the country , the leaflet of experiences and recommendation. 2 short- term joint staff training events will focus on communication, cooperation, team building, teaching methods and cultural heritage of each partner country. We will set up a project website accessible for everyone who wants to use our project results. The project website will be available at least for 5 years after the end of the project that offers longer benefits of the project for interested teachers in this topic. Everyone can see and use our results and work as inspiration, such as videos, photos, presentations and lesson plans in their own classes

Final report summary

Our Erasmus+ project "Folklore is joining us" focused on the field which makes a part of every nation - FOLKLORE. Folklore exists in every European country and it constitutes the important part of history and culture. Even if partners come from different states, folklore traditions have something in common and we wanted to find the common points. The main goal of our project was to create opportunities for pupils of European schools to meet other cultures. In view of the fact that Europe is really multicultural, the pupils have to understand this situation and they have to be knowledgeable in it. The main goals we achieved were internationalizing the organizations, improving English skills for better communication of all participants. We created and developed a long-lasting partnership not only of organizations but also individual participants. We learned how to react in unexpected situations, the teacher´s participants enriched teaching methods and exchanged methods of good practice, got inspired in teaching for instance through cooperative learning. The project improved participants´ planning and managing skills and due to Covid-19 we developed ICT skills enormously and could try online meeting of the project teams to discuss CLIL methodology which is a great way to learn students in 21st century schools. Via 2 short-term exchanges of group of pupils and 1 short- term joint staff training we got to know about knowledge of traditions, habits of Easter, Christmas and other important traditional events of each partner´s country. We got acquainted with typical regional meals, music, musicians, artists, dances and writers. Organizations worked on the general outputs of our project such as a project website, photo and video gallery, film Sounds of our country, cookery book, artist book, short sketch, notice-boards of the project, dissemination in the regional media, leaflets, presentation of each school and the education system of the country, the leaflet of experiences with regional traditions. We set up a project website and facebook page accessible to everyone (public, teachers, academic workers and experts) to share our project results. The project website is available to anyone and offers longer benefits of the project for teachers interested in this topic. Everyone can see and use our results and work as inspiration, such as videos, photos, presentations and lesson plans in their own classes.
