The main goal of the 2-year project is to integrate sustainability into initial vocational training. Involved are partners from Ireland, Malta, Portugal, France and Germany. The 2005-2014 UN Decade of Sustainable Development began to identify aspects of education for sustainable development and integrate them into the full range of national education. There has been progress and many other things in early childhood education, but no significant progress in the area of VET. The pilot project INEBB - Integrating Sustainable Development into Vocational Training - aims to strengthen training with sustainability-oriented skills. Instructors and trainees in retail, wholesale and foreign trade companies in Saxony-Anhalt gain new insights and impulses in the context of the planned advanced training in the project by gaining knowledge about sustainable business and recognizing global connections. The applicant is the practice partner in the project and responsible for the implementation of the further education modules. The project leader of the pilot project Martin Wittau is also involved in the project as CEO of the German project partner EBV, so that the experience can be incorporated into the respective projects. It is planned to transform the further education modules into units of learning outcomes and thereby convey the topic of sustainability in the context of stays abroad to participants (trainees, vocational students and dual students) from SMEs. This is not about the sustainability of mobility projects but about sustainability in business enterprises. Sustainability is not only a good intention, but should be seen by SMEs as an important business driver and strategic differentiator of their own brand, also for recruiting skilled workers. Initial research in the target countries involved showed that there are national programs / measures, but only partially relate to medium-sized enterprises and hardly to small businesses. There was no relation to vocational training. The beneficiaries are the participants in their stay abroad, their companies or future employers, who will benefit from the knowledge, as well as the foreign companies, which can use interns to address "sustainability" in the company and to implement it step by step and company-related. Secondary objective: To expand and consolidate partnerships for the organization of learning stays in Europe Cross-border mobility will continue to be of great importance, even after the current program generation (2014-2020). It is not only about the recognition of learning stays and individual VET, but also about getting to know other perspectives, opinions and languages, which ultimately also serves to secure peace in Europe. Good partners are key to organizing learning trips and partners outside the UK should Brexit impact the program generation. As part of the project, the partners will get to know each other, exchange experiences, discuss possible collaborations, work out uniform documents for the organization of learning stays and digitize their own internal processes. The results primarily benefit the project partners involved. After the project results have been published, other project promoters and partners of mobility projects can use the documents, procedures and processes for their organizations. planned project course: In the first 8 months of the project, the analysis phase, consisting of information acquisition and evaluation, takes place In the next 14 months: - the description of the learning outcomes units on sustainability and testing - the uniform design of documents for the organization of learning stays - the digitization of processes The testing of learning outcomes units, documents and processes takes place in each country (Portugal, Ireland, Malta and France) with at least two participants (trainees, vocational students or dual students) from Germany participating in learning trips to their own vocational education and training. In the last 2 months the project results have been put together, the dissemination of the project activities / results and the project evaluation.
The project Sustainability in Vocational Education and Training pursued the goal of integrating the topic in the implementation of stays abroad. The basis was the learning content developed within the framework of the INEBB model project, mainly for trainers and educational staff. The project was originally planned for 2 years and was extended by one year due to the pandemic. The involved partners from Ireland, Malta and France were known to the applicant IZAG from KA1 mobility projects. The partner from Portugal was new to the team. One aim of this project was to consolidate partnerships and attract new partners for learning visits. This goal was achieved. Before the pandemic started, the applicant as well as the second German partner EBV sent 6 trainees of different professions to Portugal. The cooperation went off without a hitch. The Portuguese partner selected job-related traineeships, high-quality accommodation and took over the mentoring of the participants. During the project, the Portuguese partner sent participants to France and Malta, and the French partner sent participants to Portugal and Malta. Another objective was to develop the four units of learning outcomes according to ECVET standards on the topic of sustainability in German and English. This goal was achieved. The original plan was to convert the entire learning content of the model project into the four units of learning outcomes. The first version was too extensive and during the first trial phase with participants in Portugal, Ireland and France it was found that the content could not be taught during the learning visits. The learning units on sustainability are intended to be a supplement to the job-related learning content and objectives of a stay. In 2020, after the extension of the project, the INEBB learning content was presented to three participants who were due to travel to Malta in autumn 2020. These participants focused on the topics: Strategy, Packaging Act, Efficiency and ... ...agreed. The project team adapted the previous ECVET learning outcomes units and the testing was carried out. The third objective was to digitalise the application processes. In the first phase, the application documents, prerequisites and necessary documents required for a successful application for an internship abroad were discussed and compared with all partners. It turned out that the templates of the German partner EBV were well suited to ensure a high-quality placement abroad. These documents were the basis for an online applicant tool. This tool was only financed from EBV's own funds after the end of the project, as the development was not part of the project. www.auslandspraktikum-europa.de
