The partnership is composed of six organizations that firmly believe in this Project "European Web-Radio: hEre We Are". The German partner will be the coordinator of the whole Project. There are three newcomers: Germany, Italy and Czech Republic. The target group is made up of students from 10 to 14 years old who enter a dynamic period of development, a time when peer and media influences affect their social interaction. The project revolves around the theme: “European Awareness through cultural Exchange” and promotes the positive integration of social media (webradio/schoolradio/webblogging and webvlogging) and culture knowledge, in different forms and shapes: from tangible (books, sports, literature, art) to intangible (practices, languages, oral traditions) searching for common values and experiencing diversities. Participants will foster the sense of belonging to the same community. The project will provide an opportunity to bring together cultural knowledge, social values and integration, technology and language skills that will result in a higher learning/teaching educational standard. All organizations will work towards this common goal by using and sharing skills such as presentation skills, reading and interpretation skills, Cultural Heritage investigation, Music, Art and Sports practice to promote European Culture. The participants will bring in ways of broadcasting these areas that they have chosen with the implication of transferring their experience and skills to one another. We also want to stress the impact that media and information mean to the educational system. The organization and breakdown of activities will be as follows: there will be three Learning /Teaching/Training Events per year. From each school there will be 4 pupils and 2/3 teachers attending. Every event will have a duration of 6 days. According to the main topic the work will focus on podcast and vodcast. Each organisation has its own topic which will be achieved in two ways - workshops for teachers, workshops for children - in which the teaching staff will observe/teach & demonstrate creative and innovative strategies. The topics are: Web radio, DJ’s competitions, Music and Art, Sports contest and reading, radio play and song contest. All meetings will include the developing of eTwinning, making podcasts and vodcasts, discussing the strategies, looking at our partnership work, events to promote and disseminate the project, checking process and assessing outcomes, visiting teachers to learn about school and the educational system, observing lessons. The methodology will be focused on task- based learning, cooperative learning and peer tutoring. Teachers and learners will receive information about the project, its objectives and opportunities during introduction, on-going training/activities, dissemination and evaluation moments. The expected results are: - An International School Web radio- A European Sports Event Day- A shared booklet of the main Art representations per country of the partners involved.- A Radio Play creation per partner school. In this project literature ( local and global) will be promoted and present in the activities. We will motivate our students to enjoy literature by way of carrying out Radio Plays throughout the project. In order to be able to evaluate the degree of success of this project, and its impact on the students / trainees, staff, parents, school and educational community the following indicators will be considered measuring the quality of:- the preparation and logistical support provided to the participants in the different learning, teaching, training events;- the learning, teaching, training events attended and their methodology;- the quality of support offered by partner schools;- the learning outcomes and acquired skills;- the integration of skills acquired / developed in class space;- the development of communicative / linguistic skills;- the quality of project management. Longer term benefits refers to the integration of project results into each school management and policy in terms of an innovative pedagogical way of learning / working, a new approach in dealing with contemporary situations, web-radio and digital tools to develop new projects, adoption of measures to fight discrimination in the classroom; eTwinning development to reinforce a better European dimension/intercultural understanding; teaching techniques acquired at different short students' exchanges, aimed at differentiated needs of students in the same class; innovative teaching techniques to make the process of learning a success; new methodologies and strategies to teach foreign languages to all students, including those with special needs, new evaluation strategies to meet students' individual abilities and to measure progress rather than cumulative knowledge, to foster internationalisation as a condition for education’s quality; transformation of the schools to a multicultural and dynamic community.
