We started the project based on the assumption that, if we want to bring the future into the present, the first step to be made is to plan things, so that what needs to be done in the future can start right now. Being aware of the fact that today’s children are the adults of the tomorrow, we have realized that it is our moral responsibility towards the future generations to make our world a better place. Entrepreneurship acts as the engine of economic development and employment in our global markets, while innovation is the key to an entrepreneurial society. The project Know the present - debate your future will involve schools from 5 European countries: Germany, Greece, Spain, Romania and Turkey. The purpose of our project is to offer a practical example of how students’ entrepreneurship skills can be developed. Participants will also be offered a supportive environment which will help them grow as social entrepreneurs, once they have become aware of their vital role as active citizens in their societies. The main idea is to raise the participants’ interest in the topic of the project, helping them understand that an effective and innovative way to face challenges created by a world full of changes is entrepreneurship. Educational actors will be encouraged to share their knowledge using the concept of open education and the social entrepreneurship spirit will thus be developed high school students. The project’s objectives are: -developing the social entrepreneurial mindset of a number of 80 students coming from 5 EU schools during a 2-year project -equipping participating students and teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to act as social entrepreneurs -perfecting the 21st century key skills of students from 5 EU schools -raising awareness regarding European values -encouraging collaboration between the participating schools Here are the expected results: -Erasmus+ corners -questionnaires -a common logo -presentations of each participating institution -five presentations on the topic “Why Social Entrepreneurship?” -five presentations with the title “Social entrepreneurship in my country” -one common dictionary -one seminar Canvas Business Model -five digital stories “Social enterprise business idea” -one crowdfunding campaign -one e-magazine “How would I make the world a better place?” -one Cultural Heritage Fair -one e-toolkit -promotional materials: flyers, brochures -one common website -a DVD of the project Through this project, we want to address high school students (15-18 years old), teachers, families, other members of the local communities, stakeholders and the local media. 250 students (50 students/ school) will be involved in the project and they will actively participate in the activities organized at a local level; 80 students of this group (16 students/ school) will take part in the international project meetings with 40 teachers (8 teachers/ school). The objectives established in the project will be fulfilled through the activities planned. An interactive approach will ensure the connection between the theoretical aspects and the practical ones, and this will also confer particularity to our project. Among these activities, there are a few targeted at engaging students to seek information, acquiring knowledge and integrating it in everyday learning experiences. The project encourages the use of digital tools and demonstrates the way in which ICT can be used to make students appreciate the educational value; it offers examples of open education practices; the national heritage, which is part of the EU cultural treasure, will also be promoted; the project will contribute to the integration of the participants on the labor market, as a result of having developed their skills and competences. In the long-term, the participating institutions will diversify their activity, teachers and students will have a higher success culture and the relationship school-families will be improved; the project will facilitate the creation of an in-depth teaching strategy, it will determine an increase in the motivation of teachers and students to get involved in similar projects and teachers will also be encouraged to participate in KA1 mobilities and lifelong learning. The chance to observe the teaching and learning process in other EU countries will ensure an improvement in the quality of the local educational process and an internalization of the teaching methodology. The dissemination plan will include such activities that will guarantee an extent of the project’s impact at local/regional and national level. The project’s results will be made known to anyone interested in the topic of the partnership and they will contribute to the sustainability of the Erasmus+ Programme. School events, different celebrations or teachers’ and head teachers’ meetings will be used to disseminate and share the contents of the partnership in the local/regional community.
At our first meeting in Istanbul we agreed on the concretization of the activities and project goals described in the project application, with the following results General agreements: • each country provides 24 hosting families for the students • the age of the participating students is 15 to 18 years old • the hosting country pays for cultural activities, visits etc. for students and teachers • for travelling and food each team pays for themselves The main topic at all meetings was the Business Model Canvas . The Canvas Model was used by the students to visualize a startup idea from the social sector. Each participating school developed its own business model. For the students the Canvas Model is a simple brainstorming tool to think about the business model. The parts of the Canvas Business Model the parts were divided – in every meeting there will be one main emphasis we work on: 1. Value propositions ; Key activities (Meeting Romania) 2. Key ressources ; Key partners (Meeting Spain) 3. Customer segment ; Customer relationships (Meeting Germany) 4. Channels (Marketing) (Meeting Greece) In addition to the theoretical work on the social project with the help of the Canvas Model, the students and teachers visited a concrete project in the respective host country during each student exchange. In Turkey: Sevgi Cafe, Istanbul In Romania: "Altita Dabuleniului" Workshop In Spain: We are fantastic, Avain In Germany: Dunkelcafe, Bluebox In Greece: Women's homemade cooparative During each meeting: • a working meeting to prepare the following meeting must be scheduled • group work (30 min) to work on the dictionary should be scheduled. • a short movie will be created (20-30 min.) by the hosting country. • „Cultural Heritage Fair“ – the hosting country prepares for example: workshops, games, dances, activities – to bring the students closer to the culture of the hosting country • the hosting country arranges a visit of a social Institution in their region or a presentation of a local representative COMMUNICATION There were different communication channels between teachers and students. The primary source was e-mail (all e-mail addresses were known to the participants). The german team were responsible for setting up a joint account for all of us (googledrive) with the ability to access GoogleDocs to store the documents in maps and folders. WhatsApp was an additional means of communication for quick and easy questions. For students and Erasmus itself, there was a Etwinning page activated by the Greek and German team. To be able to work smoothly and efficiently, we had to answer our email within two days. That was important, and everyone who worked on the project basically stuck to it. LOGO To be recognized as a valid project, we needed a LOGO. It has to be closed before the first meeting with the students. Each school organized a logo contest itself. One logo per school was selected for the competition. All schools took part in the vote. The Spanish team won the competition. After that, we used the logo on all official documents, websites, and places that required an Erasmus + logo along with the logo of the project. ACTIVITIES: Our activities in the project can be divided into: • Pre-meeting activities: videos, presentations, interviews, competitions, lectures, brainstorming, seminars, reading books • Activities during the meeting: ice breaking activities, case studies, announcing the winners of the contest (essays, posters) • Activities after each meeting: reports by students,Evaluation of the questionnaires by the German team DISTRIBUTION OF RESPONSIBILITY: We decided to divide the task among the project members to make the job faster and more efficient.
