Project summary

This is a totally movement project from classical educational approaches to technology based, student centered education system. Technology is a chance for human being. People should benefit from it as much as possible in a right way.Technological facilities ease our life in many fields. It has already started to ease education and training, too. Therefore we desire to have the support of technology in our education at the top level. Our partnership was founded with this aim- to benefit from Technology as much as possible. All of our partners have plans about this issue in their school developing agendas. We have Ict tools and enough staff to use them. Our general objective is to increase the rate of using technological instruments for a more fruitful, attractive and better education environment to %100. This doesn t mean only in the classroom but also at homes or any other places whenever students feel like to learn. Also technology must be used by management staff of the school. This project will encourage all the components of education to use and benefit from Ict. For this our students, parents, teachers, management staff must have enough capacity, competency and skill on how to use them well and effectively. We will have 6 short term learning activity through the project: Developing Teachers ICT skills and Competency 2) Using Mobile Tools effectively in Education 3) Learning different Web 2.0 Tools 4) Personalized Learning by the help of ICT 5) Flipped Classroom 6) Evaluation and Assessment with Ict tools. All these learning activities will be organized with the aim of exchanging good practices and experiences, using ICT effectively to make education easier and more attractive. -First all of our teachers will develop their skills and competency in using Technological devices. They will develop their media literacy capacity. -When they are back at schools they will share their experiences with their colleagues at the schools -And then they will guide their students about managing their own learning process by using Ict tools. -Our students will learn to manage their own learning process according to their personal differences. -They will use technological devices effectively in their learning process -They will be able to close any possible gaps after school which may occur in the classroom -Education environments will be more attractive and less boring for students because they will come the lessons with prior learning (as a result of flipped learning activities which we will study in Germany), and more visual and virtual digital materials will make understanding easier. Our participants are in two groups: the participants of Short Term Learning activity and the participants of whole project. From each school there will be 38 STLA participants who will be chosen according to their communicative and ICT using skills. We expect them to share their knowledge and experience with their friends when they are back. 14 of them will be teachers and 24 students. Students will be 12-13-14 years who have good communication skills and ready to participate in the learning activities and workshops actively. This project will be carried out by project teams and students led by a coordinator from each school. Coordinators created and decided the activities and expected results discussing together. They will be in an instant contact during the project and make sure they will get the best results from the project. At the beginning with the opening ceremony and in 2019 and 2020 with the dissemination brochures we will make our works known by many people and institutions in our communities. As to the results, first being aware of the importance and benefits of using technological instruments by the students, teachers and parents in our education, secondly using Technological instruments consciously from the beginning of education and until the end of it by all stakeholders of education. These results will let us create more attractive education environments and more enjoyable lessons. Subjects will make more sense by the colorful, concrete and visible digital materials instead of book pages. The waste of paper will be less and teachers and students will use their time more effectively. In long term We will have a generation who -are qualified enough for workforce which is required by digital era, -can criticize, ask, search, comment and decide without fear - can solves problems - can collaborate and are more productive -are are giving importance to innovation in all areas of the life To sum up, we want to be innovative and productive people who uses the time in the most beneficial way with this project.

Final report summary

Our project management consisted of a foreign language, science and IT teachers. The project was mainly implemented by the foreign language teacher, as the coordinator, who monitored the project tasks amongst the project partners. Our science and IT teachers supported the students doing their tasks. We met on a regular basis throughout the school year to discuss our progress and to mitigate potential difficulties that might occur eg. being under time pressure, not meeting deadlines. Deadlines had to be postponed a few times because of too much internal school work eg. marking exam papers or sickness of colleagues. We planned our mobilities and activities well in advance. During the process of our project: - Teachers improved their It skills by using and learning about web tool. Digital development has been neglected in Germany for many years. - Our students were guided by teachers managing their learning process and the use of IT tools. Learning at school was more attractive to students by applying modern technologies and new methods of learning. The Erasmus project enriched our school life. Our students achieved outstanding results in completing their IT tasks (e-book, magazines, website, and others) beyond expectations both academically and personally. The teachers took a proactive role in helping the students in IT and drove digital learning forward and fostered a love of learning in general around our school, maximised the opportunities that being part of an international project of schools presented. Concerning financial management, we financed the monthly costs of a website. An external IT web designer supported us to create the website “digischools.net”. We invited local police officers to talk about cyberbullying and addiction. We needed a fair amount of office equipment. The Erasmus project gave us the opportunity to work in a friendly, supportive and forward-looking environment. As a team we look forward to raising the profile of our teachers and students by inspiring an interest in digital media through the week to week project work, external activities, taking part in European projects and trips abroad.
