European factories of the future will need to apply a human-centred approach in order to increase their flexibility, agility and competitiveness. The workplaces of the future will give much more importance to the human dimension, putting people at the centre of future factories and making the most from their knowledge, skills and cultural background, in particular through life-long learning and training. In order to promote the introduction of the human-centred concept in the industry, Train4HCWork will develop, implement and set the basis for a European dissemination of a new online course focused on the design of human-centred workplaces. Training contents should cover some important issues for a human-centred design, integrating knowledge in ergonomics, health and safety at work, adaptation of job demands to workers’ capacities and productivity. In order to maximize the impact of the course, the groups that have been targeted are: •students of engineering last courses •engineers responsible for work organization, and workplace and work process design (working mainly in organization, processes and production departments) •engineers responsible for the design of machinery and tools •consultants who provide services related to these issues to industry •health and safety professionals, and •human resources professionals. To be able to reach our goals, it is of key importance to select correctly the consortium members. Five-member consortium has been set up according to criteria that will guarantee the success of the Train4HCWork action and its valorisation beyond the duration of the project. IBV (PC) has a wide expertise in the coordination of European projects, including Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus+ projects. IBV provides an e-learning platform that supports different training courses, including those developed in Lifelong Learning projects. It also has R+D areas of expertise in ergonomic design and in occupational health and safety. IAD has consolidated R+D areas of expertise in production ergonomics, work design and work organization, and provides wide expertise in the integration of methods-time measurement and ergonomics in industrial practice. FEES, as the largest network of associations of ergonomics, will have the mission of contributing to the development and improvement of education in ergonomics in Europe. FEES will be a key partner in the definition of the curriculum and in the dissemination activities. UGA will actively participate in the pedagogical methodology design and validation of the e-learning course taking into account its extensive experience in the Education field. Finally, Structo will provide of the end-users point of view. In order to achieve the project training objectives, the project will be structured in 7 WPs, including management and dissemination activities: WP1.Project management WP2.Definition of the curriculum WP3.Development of training contents in English WP4.Development of the e-learning course in English (1st version) WP5.Validation of the course and lessons learnt WP6.Development and implementation of the final version of the e-learning course WP7.Dissemination and Exploitation activities The main results of Train4HCWork will be 3 Intellectual Outputs IO, 2 Multiplier Events ME and 4 additional results AR: IO1.Curriculum. IO2.Online course in English. IO3.Online courses in French, German and Spanish. ME1.Dissemination of the training contents in a workshop in IAD. ME2.Dissemination of the final version of the e-learning course in a workshop in IBV. AR1.Training requirements based on three focus groups and one on-line survey with end users. AR2.First prototype of the online course, ready to be tested in pilot validations. AR3.Validation of the online course by means of a pilot course. AR4.Dissemination activities. Train4HCWork results will contribute to specific desired impacts in the short and medium term: •Impact on knowledge for a human-centred approach in the design of the workplaces. •Impact on awareness of key stakeholders for the implementation of this approach in the European factories of the future. •Impact of a recognition of this course as an accredited within the formal education domain. In addition to the content of the course, the course will influence the appearance of innovative solutions for the development of training courses, and for the design of working environments, processes, machinery, equipment and tools for the industry. In order to contribute to the sustainability of Train4HCWork, partners will draft, agree and sign an exploitation plan before the end of the project. Besides, partners will monitor stakeholders along the project, both potential end users of the course and exploitation partners, keeping and updating a stakeholder registry. Finally, partners will explore alternative valorisation routes and will include added-value services to Train4HCWork course in order to increase the interest and quality of the training offer.
Future factories need to apply a human-centered approach to increase their flexibility, agility and competitiveness. The workplaces of the future must put people at the center and make the most of their tastes, knowledge, skills and cultural backgrounds throughout life. The goal of the TRAIN4HCWORK project is to introduce the concept of human-centered design in industry and workplaces. For this, the channel chosen has been the development of an online course on people-centered workplace design. In this course knowledge of ergonomics, anthropometry, adaptation of demands to capacities, mental load, environmental conditions and productivity are integrated. The project consortium has been made up of five partners. IBV (Technological Center) has been the Project Coordinator. He has extensive experience in coordinating European projects, including Erasmus projects. It is also an international reference center in the areas of ergonomics and occupational health. IAD (University Center) has consolidated R&D areas of expertise in production ergonomics, work design, and provides extensive experience in integrating ergonomics and time-measurement methods in industrial practice. FEES (Network of European Ergonomics Associations), with this project seeks to contribute to the development and improvement of education in ergonomics in Europe, benefiting the training in the sector, of its current and future partners. UGA (University Center) As a reference educational center, it has extensive experience in the design of pedagogical methodology and validation of online courses. Structo (Company of the sector) throughout the project providing the point of view of engineering companies and end users. The project development process has followed the following technical phases and tasks: WP2. Definition of the study plan. Through the collection of information from key profiles of the sector and experts. WP3. Development of training content in English. Based on the defined study plan. WP4. Development of the e-learning course in English (1st version). Development and implementation of a functional pilot version of the course. WP5. Course validation and lessons learned. Teaching, monitoring, monitoring and collecting information on the pilot version of the course for its subsequent analysis and validation. WP6. Development and implementation of the final version of the course. With the results of the validation, implementation of improvements in the training content, In addition, permanent management, dissemination and exploitation tasks have been carried out throughout the project, in which all the project partners have intervened to a greater or lesser extent. The main results obtained in the project have been: Three free and open access intellectual products: IO1 Study plan. IO2 Online course in English. IO3. Online courses in French, German and Spanish. Two multiplier events: ME1. Dissemination of training content in a workshop at IAD ME2. Dissemination of the final version of the e-learning course in an IBV workshop. Four complementary results AR1. Training requirements based on information from end users. AR2. Prototype of the online course, ready to be tested in pilot validations. AR3. Validation of the online course through a pilot course. Report with the feedback of the voluntary users of the pilot course. AR4. Dissemination activities throughout the project. In addition, an exploitation agreement has been developed to ensure the sustainability of the project once it has been completed. The results will contribute to the impacts: • Impact on knowledge, Applying the human-centered approach in the design of workplaces. • Impact on the awareness of key actors for the implementation of this approach in the factories of the future. • Impact of a recognition of this course as accredited within the formal education of the sector.
