Technology and entrepreneurship are increasingly important in today's society. It is becoming growingly necessary to train students to have greater initiative and perseverance, to see opportunities where others only see problems and have a mastery of new skills such as coding, robotics or 3D printing, highly demanded in the labour market. These are precisely the key aspects of this project: students will use coding, prototyping with3D printer and robotics to develop projects that solve a social problem around us. By providing students with these skills, we are improving their employability and making it easier for them to find better jobs when they finish their studies. Each one of the four schools involved in this project will be responsible for a different aspect, according to their experience and the studies they provide: students from INSTITUTO AGRARIO BELL-LLOC (Spain) will be in charge of prototyping using 3D printers, as well as app creation, students from INETE (Portugal) will be responsible for Arduino coding; students from ZESPOL SZKOL AGROTECHNICZNO-EKONOMICZNYCH IM. KOMISJI EDUKACJI NARODOWEJ W WERYNI (Poland) will be in charge of the Marketing and Finance aspects; and students from MICHELANGELO BARTOLO (Italy) will be in charge of the Communication and the programming of Lego robots. Given that it is a large-scale project, its implementation will affect the entire educational community of the four schools involved: students, teachers, parents, as well as some local institutions. The participating students will be between 15 and 17 years old (depending on the specific school) and will be those who are taking the subjects directly involved in the project in the respective schools. In each involved school, students will be divided into in eight groups. One student from each group will participate in each one of the four mobilities planned, which represent the planned steps of the project: 1. First mobility will be focused on Prototyping with 3D printing and App creation 2. Second mobility will be focused on Coding with Arduino 3. Third mobility will be focused on Marketing and Financial Statements 4. The last mobility will be focused on Coding with EV3 robots and communication The methodology in the learning activities will be dynamic and practical: the students will learn by doing since each students’ group will have to develop a social project using those tools they have been working on during the mobilities. CLIL methodology will be also used in the activities as well as in the creation of the material (tutorials and guides) for this project. With this project, we want to achieve the following objectives and results: - Improve the employability of students by providing training in coding, application development and robotics. - Improve student motivation and reduce school failure. - Develop the entrepreneurial spirit among the students, teaching them to put into practice a business idea - Improve the level of English using this language as a communication tool. - Development of more dynamic methodologies: teamwork, project work and learn by doing. The participation in this project will contribute to the development of the involved schools in the long-term. On the one hand, we want this project to be a starting point for each organization involved, so that each school can incorporate tools such as 3D printing, programming with Arduino and robotics within their own curriculum. The educational materials produced (guides and small tutorials) will be helpful to develop projects that use these tools in each school. We refer not only to transversal or cross-curricular projects, but also to projects involving content from a specific area (for example, science), using Arduino or robotics. In addition, prototyping using 3D printing will be used by each school in small entrepreneurship projects that will develop in the future related to Entrepreneurship subject. On the other hand, we intend to continue working together -when the project ends- through the eTwinning platform, where we will register the project and communicate regularly. We have thought that the students of each school can help the other partners through videoconferences on the aspects of the project in which they are specialists (Spanish ones in App creation and 3D Printing, the Portuguese ones in Arduino, the Poles ones in Financial statements and the students from Italy in robotics and communication).
