The project "Twins" tries to put in value the cultural heritage of the cities of Orihuela (Spain) and Sofia (Bulgaria) through the bond of union that supposes the figure of the Roman Emperor Justinian I who was a direct protagonist of the reconstruction of both cities at a given moment in history. The creation of characters (twin brothers), who are separated in Roman military campaigns and who end up based in both partner cities, will be the comparative nexus so that students are aware of the evolutionary processes that have suffered the cultural heritage of both cities , always seen through the eyes of this family that will take direct part in the historical moments of greater importance in both cities. The background of the project is part of the previous experience of both schools through the implementation, in the courses 2016 / 2017-2017 / 2018, of the eTwinning project "Interrail: Travelers to the train!" where the associated centers participated in this project, and where the students studied directly the cultural heritage of both cities. The end of this project uncovers the fictional story of the separated "brothers", giving continuity with this new educational project. Through the development of this project the following objectives are pursued: to involve young people in the protection of the natural and cultural heritage, to show them the interdependence of cultures and to offer them materials that allow or strengthen their education on world heritage; strengthen communication links with European schools; teach the basic knowledge of the Spanish and English language in European students who learn Spanish and English as a second foreign language: enhance the knowledge of the cultural heritage of the countries of the associated schools; use the most common ICT tools to collaborate and communicate with the rest of the groups to plan the work and contribute constructive ideas; encourage teamwork as a tool for the construction of knowledge; develop an entrepreneurial spirit and self-confidence, participation, critical sense, personal initiative and the ability to learn, plan, make decisions and assume responsibilities; and get the European quality seal for our eTwinning project. The number of students who will participate directly in the "School Exchange Association" is 24, increasing this number to 650 indirectly. The profile of the students is similar, in the case of boys and girls between the ages of 15 and 16, with a medium socioeconomic level and with a superlative interest in language learning, geography and history. The entire KA229 project will be developed within an eTwinning project under the name "Twins", where the students will have to keep track of this family of twins through the history of both cities. To discover the secret that this family hides, they must overcome different challenges in mathematics, physics and chemistry, technology, plastic arts, literature, music, geography and history. Therefore, the activities that are worked on throughout this project are directly related to the agendas of both centers and develop interdisciplinary educational competences. The methodology will be eminently practical, with the students themselves advancing individually in the project's objectives. Cultural exchanges, guided tours and mutual knowledge of the cultural heritage of the associated center will be necessary to get to know the mystery that lies behind this family. The final product of the project will be the elaboration of a book in collaborative writing telling the story of this family. In addition to the improvement of educational skills and the enhancement of knowledge, conservation and protection of cultural heritage of both cities, with the completion of this project seeks to improve students' learning of English as a foreign language. In the same way, we expect numerous positive impacts (press echoes, achievement of the National and European Quality Seal, presentation of the project in national awards and days of educational innovation, etc.). Learning about cultural heritage will always bring long-term benefits, since from an eminently practical point of view the students will strengthen and strengthen the knowledge they have of their own cultural heritage, as well as know the evaluation of it and the actions taken to out to protect it. On the other hand, through the school exchanges they will know the cultural heritage of the associated students and will be able to make comparisons between both cultures, establishing the similarities that exist in the European cultural heritage.
