The "Cultural Heritage Map/Social Inclusion" project was born with the motivation to create a network of cooperation and innovation that contributes to enhance the educational and social value of Europe's Cultural Heritage. Cultural heritage as a pivotal component of cultural diversity and inter-cultural dialogue accessible to all (locate, catalog, preserve...), such as the common heritage of humanity. This project is also focused on raising awareness and enhancing the "inclusive European citizenship", to ensure the social nclusion of the artistic manifestations in a diverse and multicultural Europe. As well as to work on the prevention of conflicts in schools (often produced by "difficulties in multicultural understanding"), consequence of migrations and blend of culture. This is usually caused by fear of the unknown, a rejection of "the unknown (language, culture)", which turns out int xenophobic attitudes of rejection, assuming negative stereotypes. Strategies to combat school failure and early school leaving. After looking at the identified and selected needs, we prioritized on: •The lack of interest in the new generations about the diversity of the European artistic manifestations. •Educational responsibility in the "European consciousness". By recognizing the value of the our broad cultural heritage. •The increasing social need to include these contents through formal and cross curriculum.. •Prioritizing the acquisition of citizens' habits such as: respect and care of the historical heritage. We have defined the following objectives and specific actions, taking int account the value of the transnational cooperation between organizations, as well as the shared ideas and methodologies, which are trying to strengthen the "internationalization " and resulting improvement of the quality in the "Educational practice": •Designing and developing cultural heritage maps of unique towns and cities. •Planning and organizing activities and actions that promote cultural and heritage knowledge. •Raising Awareness (through training activities) about the importance of social inclusion in our diverse Europe. For the fullfillment of this task, we had the advice of the Cultural heritage institutions, such as: research centers, libraries, museums, etc; Local and regional authorities related to education and training. As for the implementation, we highlight the following actions which are suitably adapted to the context of the project: •Training Activities that agree to the methodological criteria for the acquisition of key competences, especially the ones focused on the "artistic" and "linguistic" diversity. •Development of curriculum tools as: "Didactic Units on the Cultural Heritage".Always taking into account the existing school curricula and the skills required at each level of education. We will do so, by linking the activities with other artistic and cultural cross-cutting disciplines, which will allow the students to assess the cultural heritage legacy throughout history. •Creation of "Cultural Invigorating Guides": an organization of divulgative actions related to European heritage. Based on an innovative methodology that facilitate the accessibility to the contents and visits to unique buildings, exhibits, collections of plastic art, hearing of musical works... •Adapting the educational centers in order to fit new "Artistic Creation" areas. Being the students the main protagonist by developing creative collaborative works, which encourage their imagination in relation with the European heritage culture. The objectives been have defined for a two year's duration, suited to the development of the project. This has been based on realistic and identifiable needs. Also measurable: we will be able to sequentially measure the expected results as they are getting involved with actions of location and heritage care. Together with the establishment of the "Quality Plan" that includes: • Organizational meetings that guide the implementation of the project. The economic management and documentary. •Teaching training and learning activities for teachers, for the exchange of experiences and good practices. •The collaboration of cultural institutions, heritage, educational and town halls... •Development of curricular materials "Units of work" and "cross-cutting invigorating Guides"on Cultural Heritage. •Creation of aras for synergies the development of artistic creations in the educational centers, with the help of professional artists. •Disseminate the results through exhibitions, conferences, seminars, publications of the "units of work". •Dissemination of the implementation of the project in the media TV, radio, educational magazines... •Exchange of experiences in Social Networks, Web, Blog, eTwinning TwinSpace, Platform Value. We would like to conclude by stating that we join the UNESCO declaration, by celebrating the "International Day fo Monuments and Sites" dedicated to World Heritage.
The project "Cultural Heritage Map / Social Inclusion" has motivated an innovation and cooperation that has served to enhance the social and educational value of European Cultural Heritage. We have worked on Cultural Heritage as a fundamental component of diversity and intercultural dialogue, bringing it closer to our students and promoting its accessibility as a common heritage of humanity. It has served us to raise awareness towards "inclusive European citizenship" in our schools, with a joint action, focusing on Social Inclusion and artistic manifestations in a diverse and multicultural Europe. As a result, the project has served us as a tool to motivate towards heritage. Being the children protagonists (locating, cataloging, preserving ...). It has also served us to prevent conflicts, often caused by "difficulties in multicultural understanding", a consequence of migration and mixing of cultures, caused by fear of the unknown, assuming negative stereotypes of rejection of the different: language, culture ... with xenophobic attitudes of exclusion. And at the same time fighting against school failure and early school leaving. We have prioritized in the needs detected: - Lack of interest in the new generations for the artistic manifestations. - To generate a "European conscience", to revalue the wide cultural heritage. - Including cultural contents in the formal and transversal curriculum. - Acquiring habits of citizenship (respect, perpetuate and care for the historical heritage). We have provided the added value of transnational cooperation between European organizations, strengthening the "internationalization" and the quality of "educational practice": - Design and elaboration of cultural heritage maps of towns and cities. - Promoting direct knowledge of cultural and heritage wealth. - Awareness actions that have promoted social inclusion in a diverse Europe. We have been advised by Cultural Heritage entities, which has allowed us to work directly with cultural associations, libraries, museums... local and regional authorities. We highlight the tangible actions carried out: - Research in the classrooms to discover how we can contribute to the conservation, protection and improvement of the cultural heritage of the environment. - Elaboration of curricular tools "Didactic Units on Cultural Heritage", starting from the current school curricula and the competences required in each educational level. Relating the activities carried out with other artistic and cultural transversal disciplines. - Valuing the Cultural Heritage legacy through History, with the creation of "Dynamic Cultural Guides" disseminating the European Heritage, with an innovative methodology in collaboration with local artists and museum professionals, making the contents accessible to students through visits to unique buildings, exhibitions, contemporary plastic art collections, concert auditions... - We have set up Artistic Creation spaces in the schools, with the students being the main protagonists, producing creative collaborative works in which they have captured their imagination in relation to European heritage culture, guided by creative people, with the support of discovery and participation dynamics. The results obtained have been integrated into the life of the centers, appropriate to the development of the project, establishing ways of doing that have alleviated the needs detected. They have been measurable, since we have been able to measure the results throughout the project, which has allowed us to establish a Quality Plan in the centers, which we have included: - Organizational meetings, which have guided the execution of the project, economic and documentary management. - Teacher training and learning activities with the exchange of experiences and good practices. - Direct collaboration with cultural and heritage institutions and town councils... museums, libraries... - Exhibition of all the work done in unique places of the localities, providing dissemination of the work done on cultural heritage. - Disseminating the synergies resulting from the "artistic creations", with the advice of creative people. - Creating "ways of doing" as the students are the protagonists in exhibitions, conferences, seminars, publications ... - We have counted on the support of the Media TV, radio, educational magazines... to make known all that has been done. - Serving as an example in Social Networks, Web, Blog, eTwinning, TwinSpace... Valor Platform. As a conclusion we can say that we have fulfilled the objective of UNESCO, celebrating the "International Day of the World Heritage" throughout the project.
