CONTEXT AND OBJECTIFS Our project develops from a common point of view about early school leaving. We want to use the idea about promoting cultural local heritage with the help of open and innovative methodologies to motivate students and make them continue in the system. There is an interest in making them aware about a European consciousness sharing experiences and using the same language: French. PARTICIPANTS 45 students between 15 and 17 years old and 8 teachers will take part in the project and they will directly benefit with the project in the meetings. We will work the proposed activities in our countries, and in the meetings we will show each other our results and new activities will be proposed. We must also say that in each country we will include students with integration problems (economical problems, immigrant families, etc.) Apart from these we also have a high amount number of students that will be related with the project. ACTIVITIES The activities presented in the project are: making a brochure presenting a selection of interesting local places to visit in each country with a translation in all the languages: Spanish, Romanian, Italian and French, a sketch about customs and typical celebrations from each country and also an interview to a local craft person that explains the history of the job that they do. In this context we also foresee other activities that will help us to disseminate, the impact of the project and also to the social and cultural development of our students such as creating a logo, a website, making posters, a plurilingual dictionary, a hymn, discussions, round tables, workshops, etc. These activities are related to them, quite near to them and this is why they will present useful and worthy tasks for them. METHODOLODY Our methodology will be active, innovative and collaborative because there are lots of tasks and activities that will show our students creativity. We must highlight that our students have a high school leaving humber and we want to motivate our students to get their success. Moreover, with the use of digital tools students will find a different motivation which will help us to get our main goal. Finally, we use a collaborative methodology because they will be obliged to understand each other through heterogeneous groups to get results in the proposed activities: round tables, discussions and workshops. RESULTS We hope to have factual results as creating a website and a magazine which collects all the stuff created. This stuff can help as a touristic miniguide of the different local areas, it can also be stuff to use in the second language and history lessons to promote local tourism, etc. We will try to share it with the educative community, but what’s more to local authorities and local and regional media. We also hope other results as getting an improvement in the students school success with the help of the manager team at the end of each academic year. We want to make our students think about European consciousness and open them the European gates and develop in them a critical thought, which we consider, is quite important nowadays. We also want to know the different educational systems from the participating countries and get good ideas to use them in our schools. IMPACT The impact of this project will be in all the educative community and beyond. We will involve our schools directly (with the participants) or indirectly (with the rest of students and teachers). Families will also have an important role with the lodging of the students and authorities will also benefit with this project in the same way, besides with an improvement in the local economy (restaurants, local shops, etc). LONG-TERM BENEFITS These benefits will be of different kinds: the kind of activities motivate students to work with innovative approaches and they also make teachers get involved. So this can be the very beginning of a list of Erasmus + projects. On the other hand, the project will be developed in two years, so it will be presented in the meetings with the principal, with the teachers, with the families, etc. Furthermore, the involved teachers will be in their posts in the different schools for years, so it means, they will be able to disseminate the project in their schools for a long time.
CONTEXT AND OBJECTIFS Our project was developed within a tool to fight against school dropout. We used the idea of promoting local tourism using an open and innovative methodology to motivate them and try to hook them into the system. There was also an interest in awakening them a European consciousness from sharing common experiences and also using a common European language, French. PARTICIPANTS In this program around 45 students aged between 15 and 17 and 8 teachers have directly benefited from this project. We counted with the help of other teachers in the school, families and administration officials. We missed a face-to-face meeting because of the pandemic that we did virtually and even if the experience is not the same, we were able to adapt to the situation. We also had to complete the list of participants with the reserve because after three years there were students who left high school. It must be said that in each country we have included students with integration problems (economic problems, immigrant families, etc.) ACTIVITIES The activities presented in this project were: to elaborate a brochure presenting a selection of interesting local places to visit in each country with an explanation in all languages (Spanish, Romanian, Italian and French); a sketch on the customs or typical celebrations of each city and also an interview with a local craftsman who explained the history of the trade he does everyday. In this context we have carried out other activities that have helped us with the dissemination, the impact of the project and also with the social and cultural development of our students, such as the creation of a logo, a web page, the development of posters, a dictionary multilingual, a soundtrack, debates, round tables, workshops, etc. METHODOLODY We used an active, innovative and collaborative methodology because we did a lot of tasks and activities that showed the creativity of the students. It should be noted that we have students with a fairly high school dropout rate and with this methodology we wanted to attract the students’ attention and motivate them to achieve academic success. In addition, with the use of digital tools, students found a different motivation that helped us achieve our goal. Finally, we used a collaborative methodology because they were forced to understand each other and make themselves understood through heterogeneous groups to obtain results in the proposed activities (round tables, debates, workshops, etc.) Even if we had to do a virtual mobility, we were able to adapt to the situation and continue with the proposed activities by adding digital tools to develop it. RESULTS We have achieved tangible results such as the creation of a website or a magazine that collects all the material created. This material can serve us as a small tourist guide of the partner countries, material to be used in the course of foreign language or history/geography to promote local tourism etc. We have sent it to the entire educational community and even elsewhere, such as local authorities, or the local or regional press. Moreover, we have obtained an improvement in the academic success of our students which we have verified with the help of the management team. We also wanted them to reflect on European awareness, to open the doors of Europe to them and to develop in them a critical spirit which is so important today. We also got to know the school systems of the partner countries and we took good ideas to integrate them into our own systems. IMPACT The impact of this project has been throughout the educational community and beyond. We have involved the whole establishment directly (with the participants) or indirectly (the rest of the students or teachers transmitting this project) also the families who have had a very important role in welcoming the partner students, the authorities who have benefited considerably from this project as well as an improvement in the local economic framework (restaurants, museums, hotels etc.) LONG-TERM BENEFITS These benefits are in several ways: first, this type of activity motivates students to work with an innovative methodology and requires the involvement of teachers as well. So maybe this will be the start of a long list of Erasmus+ projects. On the other hand, the project was developed in three years so it has been presented in meetings with the Principal, with the rest of teachers, families, etc.) In addition, the teachers involved will remain in their positions at the school for years and that means that they will take care of the dissemination of the project in our school.
