Project summary

The main objective of this Project was to make women visible and value their contributions to the positive development of Humanity. They and their work have been ignored, forgotten, discriminated and mistreated throughout the History, still nowadays. To get this, we were going to use the celebration of Special Days (Peace Day, Teachers Day, Women Day, Book Day, Children Day), furthermore some national or traditional parties from each country. (Children Week, Croatia; Liberation Day, Italy; Canary Islands Day, Spain), doing activities includes into the curriculum (poems, biographies, comics, tales, portraits, photos, audiovisual presentations, graphics, sport activities, musical activities, book marks, interviews...) During each date, we worked about a woman or a women movement related to the celebration motive. A main character (a journalist girl who travels through time and world) designed by the pupils in a competition, was the connection of the Project. She gave some clues about the woman we were going to know and posing challenges to students to be motivated to investigate. We also wanted to propose some methodologies to work in a collaborative way, planning that the tasks for pupils had to be done in group, taking different roles and learning to work in a team, respecting and valuing the contributions of their colleagues and acquiring prominence and responsibility. In addition, we motivated our pupils to Europe knowledge, its different countries, languages and costumes, as well as the need of communication through new technologies and a common language, English. We hope to achieve the goal to work equal opportunities to girls and boys, sensitizing our pupils about the discrimination against that, nowadays, women continue to suffer, in Europe and in the world, contributing to a fairer and more egalitarian Europe. One door has been opened to continue working, in their way of thinking and living, the full equality of people, of women, as a value and as a right to reaffirm, since we are all important members in every Community. We managed to design a Full Equality Plan for schools, which is already in operation. Our identity as member of the European Community has been worked on, the friendship with the students of the other schools and we will maintain the social relations that make it effective. The customs and cultural and social traditions of the Communities of the European Union, with which we have collaborated, have also been studied and valued. The Project has been very enriching for the education of these students
