Project summary

From North to South for Better Understanding Europe. The project idea concerns the implementation of an educational program for rhythm and music for children. We share different methods to combine movement, music, art and language. This program allows the synthesis and rendering of simple and complex rhythmic motifs. We will use percussion musical instruments and body percussion. The research has shown that the rythm and the music are important for learning, maturing and shaping a balanced personality of children and also help them to improve their school performance. Children’s engagement with music increases their abilities, meets their needs and generally benefits the individual's personal life. We have four preschools attending from four countries from north to south: Finland, Latvia, Bulgaria, Greece. We found an understanding at the contact seminar ECEC in Stockholm. We visit eachothers' preschools, do jobshadowing and have workshops with experts. We have seminars presenting the results in each country after mobility. We want to create greater understanding and responsiveness to social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity. We are looking for better understanding of practices, policies and system of education. We offer increased opportunities for professional development. We get increased motivation and satisfaction in daily work with children. We are making a methtology-teaching video, tips to teachers and parents and a multicultural performance video.
