Our three schools, French, Dutch and Spanish, have had partnerships for many years with various exchanges and projects. This KA2 project will you give us the opportunity to further develop our current educative propositions. Our starting point is our very diversity: geographical, cultural and social. Is Europe able to move beyond its differences to ensure peace to its citizens? We are thinking that if we are aware of our differences, these will never be impediments but opportunities to grow. We are thinking that our students should improve their knowledge of Europe so as to become European citizens who are proud of their regional, national and European identity. To address this issue we will work together on the making of a short film on the European identity. Thus we will develop key skills for our pupils and teams. The work will be done with the Freynoy, a national studio for contemporary arts, in the north of France. This short film will be presented at a festival for high school students and will give further visibility to the Erasmus+ project and will promote our initial assumptions: Europe’s strength relies on its diversity and should be able to count on collaborations between countries to insure peace. This project will be implemented in three years and will rely on three types of mobilities given in Erasmus + and KA2 school exchanges: 84 students will realise short-term abilities (one week) and long-term mobilities will be done by 18 students (two months) in total immersion in our partner schools. These mobilities will be proposed, on equal motivation, to modest or big families. Finally a job exchange between two teachers (French and Spanish) should guide the first long-term mobilities for students in France and Spain, give them a very enriching language, intercultural and pedagogical experience. This will also improve each teacher’s professional skills. Throughout the project each student will work on Europe thanks to a “European club” and will communicate via e-twinning with the other clubs. This club will in a way be co-piloting the project with the help and support of the staff who initially masterminded the project. The club will meet at least once a month to discuss current European news, European identity, prepare questions for the coming mobilities. They will prepare the outline and the sequences of the storyboard. We can also imagine on the walls of our schools, a collaborative wall with the latest news in Europe and the progress of the project of the short film. The European club will be in charge of the writing of 2 teaching materials (a guide on the European institutions and a guide on making a short film). We expect these activities to have an impact on a lot of people (students and staff) and not only on participants. This collaborative work will enable students to develop their autonomy and a spirit of entrepreneurship and initiative. One of the aims of the project is to make students aware that they are part of the European Community and therefore encourage them to cross borders to study, work or even live in another country. The impact on participants will be expressed by the fact that they will learn mutual respect, understand their respective cultures and religions, and work together on a collaborative project about the European citizenship. They will gain from speaking a foreign language and presenting their opinion in public. They will also develop methods which, thanks to the Internet, will enable them to quickly gather information. The management of the project will be done on google doc (Excel) so as to centralise information concerning the mobilities (participants, evaluation, budget management). Taking part to the project will improve our educational offer, the language, intercultural and audio-visual skills of the participants. It will also make our schools more innovative and attractive. We are looking forward to motivating more pupils and staff on actions beyond our national borders.
