" The future in our hands " is a project that has emerged from an educational and innovative will to fight school dropout. Our call for a project on the E-twinning platform has enabled us to cooperate with three European establishments willing to deal with common issues: -Increase of early school leaving -A poor if not non-existent European identity -Difficulties in the command of foreign languages (English and French). To answer these needs, we have all decided to work collaboratively : on a theme that brings us together the sustainable development and the well-being. Our main objectives will be: -To fight against premature school leaving through an innovative project -To develop disciplinary skills (in languages, in mathematics, in sciences, in thermal engineering, environment, health and safety, in French, in applied arts) -To favor the use of information technologies and communication in education -To develop knowledge in European culture, -To improve cooperation between teachers and pupils, -To improve the quality of our teachings thanks to exchanges with our partners, - To sprout the idea of a European common identity and intercultural consciousness, -To favor the integration of pupils in the European area -To develop personal fulfillment while respecting other cultures, -To improve the construction of an active and responsible citizenship, - To strengthen European citizens' sense of belonging to Europe -To focus on pupils’ skills and favor social and professional integration. We shall work with pupils of the same age group (15-19 years old) in establishments delivering a fairly wide range of training. A French Polyvalent High School with an industrial vocational training section, an Upper Swedish Secondary School, a Rumanian Technological High School, a Vocational high school in Crete. The richness of our collaboration will emerge from the diversity of our establishments. We want to turn these differences into a strength to offer our pupils different learning methodologies. Our project will involve the pupils in various activities related to sustainable development and well-being. It will thus contribute to increase an awareness on the consumer habits of each individual. The focus on the various lifestyles, the analyses and the common criticisms of various activities will lead to results which will be assessed by professionals. At the end of the project and thanks to the productions that they will have achieved, we expect our pupils to become more autonomous, more responsible, more environment-friendly, more open-minded and with a better self-esteem. We shall share our productions with various public: educational community, families, professionals, institutions. The results will be released on the project website, on various digital products which will be developed and fed all throughout the project and shared on various supports : medias, social networks, Erasmus +platforms. To achieve our designed goals, we have established a planning of the project over two years. Duing this period, we shall implement the activities planned during the preparation of this project. The assessment of every stage of the project by means of various indicators, will enable us to make the necessary adjustments to reach a successful conclusion of the project. This experience will provide everybody with a new look on Europe, will help personal and professional fulfillment and will define new prospects and new ambitions.
The “The future in our hands” project is coming to an end. It was a great pleasure to have met, appreciated and worked with our various partners. The organization, the understanding and the work provided allowed us all to carry out this project. The European identity was revealed and the difficulties of mastering foreign languages (English and French) diminished. The main objectives below have been achieved: - fight against dropping out of school through an innovative project - develop disciplinary skills (in languages, mathematics, science, thermal engineering, environmental health prevention, French, applied arts) - promote the use of information and communication technologies for teaching - develop knowledge of European culture, - to strengthen cooperation between teachers and between pupils, - improve the quality of our teaching thanks to exchanges with our partners, - to germinate the idea of a common European identity and intercultural awareness, - to promote the integration of pupils in the European area, - personal development in relation to respect for other cultures, - improve construction for an active and responsible citizenship, - develop the feeling of belonging to Europe, - to enhance the skills of students and promote social and professional integration. We think from the views of the school results achieved by our students that our main objective which was to fight against dropping out of school was largely achieved. For the French delegation, the baccalaureate results are 94% for the cohort concerned. The project was carried out with the same cohort of students until March 2020 and the appearance of the pandemic. Because of the latter, transnational mobility in France could not be achieved. This mobility was scheduled from 03/29/2020 to 04/04/2020. All of the planned activities could be canceled ... The students of the French delegation took part in the project throughout their entire secondary school curriculum. Despite the sanitary conditions and the current context, the last mobility was carried out in hybrid mode. Since the start of the 2020 school year, we have continued the project with a cohort of students entering our high school in second class. In view of the benefits acquired by the students participating in the project, it seemed essential to us to continue the progress of the project with an incoming class. The results are also convincing, despite the hybrid operation which is forced to recognize it less attractive for the student. The productions carried out have made our students more independent, more responsible, more respectful of the environment, to open their minds, to increase self-esteem ...... .. All of these productions are shared with: educational community, families, professionals, institutions, media: media, social networks.
