Project summary

The project “Let's work for a real migrants inclusion!" is focused on the exchange of good practices to try to find solutions to the refugees and migrants problem. In fact the world is facing an unprecedented displacement crisis. Over 65.000 people worldwide are now forcibly displaced as a result of persecution, conflict or for fear of death. In each year, thousands of people are leaving their houses and their home country to escape war, persecution or conflict. Since 2011, there has been a continuing conflict in some countries especially in Syria which has led to the field of many citizens to countries with the aim of being sheltered. Most of people leaving their home, usually leave most of their possessions or belonging at home, taking only what they can carry. Most of them will never return to their home, they cross borders or trying to cross sea by risking their lives. The EU’s external borders have increasingly been the scene of human tragedies to which the EU, together with its Member States, is trying to find a very difficult solution, throught the European Agenda on Migration, that responds to the priorities identified in the Political Guidelines of E.C. President Juncker. But the situation is terrible. In 2016: •nearly 370.000 refugees and migrants have arrived in Europe, most of them by sea; •more than 173.000 have arrived in Greece and more than 167,000 in Italy; •the main migrants and refugees nationalities were Syrian, Afghan, Nigerian, Pakistani, Iraqi and Eritrean; •more than 75.500 refugees and migrants are stranded in Greece and the Western Balkans after Hungary and other countries shut their borders, closing off routes to central and western Europe; •numbers crossing from Turkey to Greece fell sharply after the European Union struck a deal with Ankara in March to stem the flow. •about 4.700 migrants have died in the Mediterranean while trying to reach Europe, compared to about 3.800 in 2015. Most have died while crossing from North Africa especially trying to arrive in Italy. The continent saw around 171,000 sea arrivals in 2017 (less than 2016). The situation in many countries is collapsing for the -high number of not-stopping arrivals of refugees and migrants -high expenses necessary to assure the control to reduce the irregular migration, to save lives and secure the external borders -difficulty to strengthen a common asylum policy at EU level -increasing of conflicts in the hosting countries where population is staring to don’t want to accept new migrants -decision of some countries to create walls or to leave the Union especially for this problem. So it is necessary to act! Our project, following the problems indicated, wants to give some solution: - finding and exchanging good practices of integration in the involved countries - increasing the skills and abilities of people working with refugees and migrants - developing new and innovative tools and methodology that could help the local inclusion of disadvataged groups - permitting the discussion at local level about the problem - organising activies of integration for refugees and asylum seekers - disseminating positive messages about the work done by the EU in this field - encouraging citizens to take active role in facilitating the hospitality for people seeking protection and a better life - raising awareness about refugees and their physiological and social needs - establishing local networks composed by all the possible stakeholders operating in the field - developing important and wider information campaigns - promoting intercultural communication - facilitating social inclusion - strengthing solidarity. The project partnership is composed by organisations established in Italy, Turkey, UK, Bulgaria, Greece. The duration of the project is 24 months. During the project will be realised: - 3 project Meetings - 3 Joint Staff training Events - Multicultural festivals in all partners' countries - Language courses in all partners' countries - 30 radio broadcasts - a videospot - 6 newsletters - a leaflet - an eBook - interviews, surveys and questionnaire - web site and social network promotion.
