Project summary

The project focuses on to develop and disseminate tools for assessment of basic (for pupils Learning to learn individually/in groups. Social and civic competences, especially European citizenship.Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship:ability to turn ideas into action through creativity, ability to plan and manage projects.Cultural awareness and expression in an international environment)and high quality professional competences (for teachers: assessing quality and relevance of one's own and pupil's competences),as well as actions that apply the learning outcomes approaches in carrying out education achievements. It will support individuals in acquiring and developing key competences, including transversal and soft skills, foreign language and digital skills,in order to foster socio educational development. The project involves 2 schools of two different Countries(Italy, coordinator, and Finland, partner):both have sound internationalization experiences and want to improve the quality of their provisions for learners through mobilities for pupils and staff,to help the partners develop as organisations and increase their ability to work in international projects. The project will direcly involve 100 people. The motivation for this proposal is that,by its Improvement Plan,Self-Evaluation Report and Annual Plan for Inclusion, the Coordinator detected that skills developed in pupils and efforts made,in order to act positively in the field of education, had to be revised and redesigned with the purpose to progress towards the most important goals of all:on one hand, allow pupils to achieve their personal fulfilment, being aware of the results they aimed at,not only while attending school, but also throughout their whole life;on the other hand, strengthen teachers' professional profile improving their skills, particularly in the fields demanding more innovation and deep transformations.Similarly, data in an OECD PISA survey on Education systems dated 2015,revealed a failure of several points(5>10)in Finland,as to proficiency in reading comprehension, maths and science(the 3 points of reference indicated also by the European Commission in its priorities, to be enhanced).Even though Italy displayed the same problems, it ranked far behind Finland. So,having got a connection with the Finnish School, the Coordinator asked them to cooperate in a partnership for exchange of good practices,to achieve the following General Objective:all the teaching staff are able either to plan the curriculum,to implement it,and to assess student's performance by his/her own skills, using a holistic, learning outcomes approach.Pupils reinforce self-esteem through enhanced awareness and understanding.Specific Objectives:Enhancing comparing abilities;widening diffusion of good practices;increasing constant application of assessment criteria and indicators;lessening self-centredness both, at a personal and a systemic level. Results:Enhanced objectivity in evaluation and assessment, both,at a personal and a systemic level;better sharing of good practices; increased insistence of results, when the same assessment grids are adopted;better transparency and understandability of assessment results. Activities: Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils;Short-term joint staff training events, for comparing eachother's assessment systems; enhancing assessment skills;managing the timeline and rules for sharing;creating more efficient assessment grids;adopting good practices both, at a personal(teachers and pupils)and a systemic level. Thus, critical thinking, values, attitudes and behaviours will be boosted to allow participants to practice the skills and knowledge acquired, values included. The deliverables, resulting from this work will be:Call for selection,Training activities,Teaching/learning Workplan for a Module,Three Questionnaires,Surveys results,Assessment/self assessment grids,Logbooks,Multimedia presentations,Short videos,Shared Application Protocol,Shared Dissemination Protocol, 4 virtual meetings. The results will be presented during two cross-culture seminars, which are milestones in the project, in the framework of dissemination. The extent of its impact will be certainly widened by the people from the two partner cities, involved in the activities and, especially in dissemination.A strong educational impact is also foreseen, through implementation of:A proEuropean citizenship approach, integrated into the school activities;an overcoming of the self-centred approach in assessment and evaluation procedures;an increase in students' motivation and active participation into school life;an increase in teachers' motivation because of a new systematic methodological approach.Sustainability will be granted by the other local schools( province, regions) that will experiment and adopt the application protocol.Besides, the partnership will apply for a follow-up Erasmus+ project, under KA1,for more training, job shadowing and teaching asseignments to deepen results up.

The Project has supported redesigning of usual educational practices, allowing pupils to achieve their personal fulfilment, becoming more aware of the results they aimed at,either at school, or in their life;it has also strengthened teachers' professional profile improving their skills, particularly in the fields of interculture and evaluation, demanding innovation. The extent of its impact has been widened by the people from the two partner cities, involved in the activities and, especially in dissemination(pupils’families and hosts).A strong educational impact has also been proved, through implementation of:a proEuropean citizenship approach, integrated into the school activities;an overcoming of the self-centred approach in assessment and evaluation procedures;an increase in students' motivation and active participation into school life;an increase in teachers' motivation because of a new systematic methodological approach.Sustainability will be granted by the other local schools(lower and upper secondary)that have become acquainted with the results, and that will be proposed the new evaluation protocol.Besides, the partnership will live on through a stable educational twinning and an exchange of pupils and teachers, that have already been agreed on,for more peer reviewing, training, teaching assignments, research. All those activities will be carried out either on-site or on line.
