The ideas of citizenship and being a good citizen have become really popular nowadays. So according to it, we strongly believe that we must teach students what it’s like to be a good digital citizen, they should be aware of their rights and duties , threats and privacy policies , and all the aspects which should keep them safe and sound in this dangerous virtual world. The new concept, of the digital citizenship, tends to help parents, teachers and all the others educational instructors to understand the importance of the appropriate use of technology by the students. Digital Citizenship is not a simple teaching instrument; it is a way to help students be aware and prepared to live in a technological society. We aim at enabling our students to face this challenging virtual world, becoming ready to cope with this multicultural environment. Furthermore we are interested in seeing the position and experience of the other schools involved in this project, especially regarding the technology usage in class .The schools taking part in this project are so very different, there are some whose experience in training students in the field of computer science is really wide and rich, and others who are still trying to overcome this lack of experience. Through this project, our goal is to achieve the following objectives: - to transmit our students various concepts related to digital citizenship - to present new teaching methods in the educational practice of the local teachers - to encourage responsible usage of technology among students - to make students to work together and develop digital materials according to a topic - to enrich the students’ digital literacy and digital skills - to develop the students’ communication skills and their ability to collaborate - to make possible the exchange of technology usage methods in schools - to promote intercultural attitude among students, to be tolerant and respectful - to stimulate the students’ level of motivation and stir their curiosity - to develop changes in the educational process in each of the partner schools. We intend to include five transnational meetings in our project which are meant to stimulate our cooperation and collaboration, and they are all student exchanges. Our intention is to bring the students together, to make them work and collaborate, to realize different materials on the already mentioned topics. Their role is a very active one, they won’t be just watching, but they will have to bring their personal contribution to the project. We’ll be using the ‘flipped classroom ‘method during this process. The students will get materials to study before each exchange, they will have to learn about the topics suggested for each exchange, and of course, they will have to work together to realize new materials during each exchange. The main topics are: C1 – Digital communication and identity C2 – Digital rights and responsibilities; C3 – Digital security C4 – Digital behaviour C5 – Digital commercial exchanges The target of the project are the students and the teachers in our school. Our profiles are vocational or general education ones.Their ages are among 15 to 18, boys and girls, having quite different levels of performance at school. There are students who face social and economic difficulties, with learning and studying problems, even students who might give up on their studies, so all these disadvantaged groups are also our target. We intend to choose 20 students to be an active part of our project, by getting them involved in the exchange which will be hosted by our schools. Our schools will take advantage from the project from different perspectives: First of all the involved teachers will be able to identify and exchange new teaching methods and reliable practices with the other teachers, to notice new and modern systems of organizations , so they could use them into their local schools. The institutions will promote their image , their community and even their area at European level. Furthermore after the hosted exchange, schools will have better relationship with the students’ parents and others from the local community. They will gain more expertise in dealing with Erasmus+ projects and will be able to develop future initiatives either for KA 1 or 2. The results we are interested about are: better digital literacy, more productive collaboration among students, stimulating interculturalism, the new modern teaching methods, a higher level of motivation, better relationships between students and teachers. Some of the outputs include different materials: resources, videos, games all these are meant to teach students about the ideas of digital citizenship concepts, Guide for digital citizens, materials about each school, each country, photos and videos.
This project was aimed to work with our Secondary School students (15 to 18 yo.) boys and girls, having quite different levels of performance at school in order to present students what it’s like to be a good digital citizen, to be aware of their rights and duties , threats and privacy policies , and all the aspects which should keep them safe and sound in this dangerous virtual world. Some students faced social and economic difficulties and some with learning and studying problems. This topic was the thread which allowed us to use “Teadia” to explore as many subjects as possible in order to give our students a new perspective about COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION and develop different kinds of intelligence so every pupil can be aware of their own abilities sharing the DIVERSE POINTS OF VIEW that the different countries and cultures taking part in the project can contribute to. In particular students have understood the importance of the appropriate use of technology. Digital Citizenship has become a way to help students be aware and prepared to live in a technological society, facing this challenging virtual world, becoming ready to cope with this multicultural environment. Furthermore we have had the possibility of seeing the position and experience of all schools involved in this project, especially regarding the technology usage in class which were different, with different levels of experience in training students in the field of computer science Through this project, we have achieved the following objectives: - to transmit our students various concepts related to digital citizenship - to present new teaching methods in the educational practice of the local teachers - to encourage responsible usage of technology among students - to make students to work together and develop digital materials according to a topic - to enrich the students’ digital literacy and digital skills - to develop the students’ communication skills and their ability to collaborate - to make possible the exchange of technology usage methods in schools - to promote intercultural attitude among students, to be tolerant and respectful - to stimulate the students’ level of motivation and stir their curiosity - to develop changes in the educational process in each of the partner schools. ACTIVITIES AND METHODOLOGY five transnational meetings have been held in our project which were meant to stimulate our cooperation and collaboration, and they were all student exchanges, 6 students per mobility. the students have worked together, and collaborated, to realize different materials on the already mentioned topics. Their role was a very active one, bringing their personal contribution to the project. We have used the ‘flipped classroom ‘method during this process. The students got materials to study before each exchange, they Have prepared some products about the topics suggested for each exchange, and of course, they have worked together to realize new materials during each exchange. The main topics were: C1 – Digital communication and identity C2 – Digital rights and responsibilities; C3 – Digital security C4 – Digital behaviour C5 – Digital commercial exchanges Our schools havel taken advantage from the project from different perspectives: First of all the involved teachers have identified and exchanged new teaching methods and reliable practices with the other teachers, have noticed new and modern systems of organizations , so they can use them into their local schools. They have gained more expertise in dealing with Erasmus+ projects . The results we have achieved are: better digital literacy, more productive collaboration among students, stimulating interculturalism, new modern teaching methods, a higher level of motivation, better relationships between students and teachers. Our schools have more modern and motivating teaching methods to prevent early drop-out, supporting an ICT-based, holistic approach of teaching and learning, reinforcing English language and other basic skills. Some of the outputs include different materials: resources, videos, games all these are meant to teach students about the ideas of digital citizenship concepts, Guide for digital citizens, materials about each school, each country, photos and videos. Unfortunatly, some of the activities were delayed due to the pandemic situation, in fact the project had to stop in 2020 due to the national emergency rules, and it was prolonged for one year and the last mobility was in part virtual but only for the Italian students who had no permission to go .
