In this project the students research about how to protect the delta area's Lido of Venice and the Rhine and Meuse delta in the Netherlands. Caused by climate change, sealevels in both area's are expected to raise, to cope with this situation we have to defend ourselves against the water with inovative and futureproof solutions to protect our sensible coastal area's from the sea. With 21st century skills as for example creativity, computer skills, working together in and international space, and especially problem solving for (near) future problems, students are challenged to come with innovative idea's to protect their own living area from water. The waterworks that already exist and protect our coastal area's can also been seen as cultural heritage, although to make this future proof and sustain the protection of the coastal zones is as coping with the climate change in this area's Students have to be aware that climate change also causes effects on European societies especially in the coastal area's. Goals and effects - Important is that students are aware of the risks to live in a delta. Benefits for the student (Awareness of risks) -To use their skills and benefits to come up with new idea's (Innovations for your own environment) - Use multimedia to research and present information (Improving multimedia skills) - To share information with international students that live under comparable conditions ( cooperation and language improvement) Language English 40 International students 4 teachers (with help from colleagues) Activities to visit cultural heritage related to watermanagement in the Netherlands and Italy. Contact with expert groups in both countries
