The title of our project is "Enterpreneurship and language matters in life. Developing resourcefulness among students; learning how to set up a business". We decided to implement this project mainly because entrepreneurship and resourcefulness are the traits which are desirable among young people in today's times. Young persons are struggling with a very difficult situation on the labor market. There is a very high unemployment rate among young people in the entire EU and this difficult situation is characteristic of each of the 5 partner countries: Spain, Greece, Italy, Latvia and Poland. Hence, the main objective of our project is to raise our students` awareness of the right approach to becoming a successful entrepreneur. We want our students to understand through the project that they have an impact on their future and that they future depends mainly on them. We want students to learn about the principles of setting up firms on the local and European market. They will also have to investigate the market on which their company will operate. Students will learn about sales strategies and advertising techniques. They will learn to explore and analyze the local and European market. Through our project we want to develop entrepreneurship skills among students and show them what an important role foreign languages play in every area of life. Our project assumes the improvement of language skills in English and Spanish. An important assumption of the project is the emphasis on the development of communication in foreign languages and the extension of language skills in the field of entrepreneurship, economics and business. As we want our project to be fully implemented and bring the expected results, a set of workshops, training, study visits, additional lessons for which there are no funds in schools will be organized. Through the direct contact with teachers and students from partner countries, students will learn about the principles of running a company. In order for the students to know well the principles of opening a company and the functioning of European markets, they need to learn about mentality, culture and overcome stereotypes. The well-planned programme will adopt a skills-based approach and provide real-life business opportunities which will apply mainly IT skills. The activities will include problem-solving and team working. In order to engage our students, we will invite experts on entrepreneurship and visit local business people to give them an insight into the range of different successful methods of running a business, and to provide the students with some ideas for a product. We will establish a positive IT link by embracing social media and creating a blog in English and Spanish. Our project outcomes will be for our students to develop a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship, to be creative in their thinking, to develop their social skills by negotiating, listening and persuading, and to be organised when running their business. The students will be supported by dedicated staff that will also be developing their own entrepreneurial skills further. Students, Teachers and Support Staff from each institution will be part of the project. We will also include our local authorities, our local businesses, local media, School Governors and the local communities. During the first year we will focus on psychological background. Several activities will stem from the creation of the business, such as role play activities, experiences to improve confidence, team building workshops, and learning about different countries. IT will be used to create tools such as blog multimedia presentations. The Internet will also be used for research purposes, such as finding and locating information on European countries within the project, and for ideas on choosing a product for marketing. We will invite guest speakers with a business background into the schools to work closely with the students and teachers. During the second year, we will focus on the importance of advertising. We will invite relevant guests into the school in order to introduce the power of successful publicity. The impact of successful advertising will demonstrate the power of persuasion. The students will create their product in prtheifirsNove. Children will then need to price their product, taking into account that the ways it can be introduced on the local and international market. The project will have a positive impact on our students, teachers and on the local community, opening doors for new ideas and exciting ventures for the future. Questionnaires for pupils, staff and parents will be used to discover the success of the programme. All results will be published on our website, etwinning, our school website and on Facebook in order to hopefully benefit other ventures in the long term. All activities and products will be displayed in our Erasmus corner for parents, students and visitors to view.
The title of our project is "Entrepreneurship and language matters in life. Developing entrepreneurship among students; learning how to set up a business". We decided to implement this project mainly because entrepreneurship and resourcefulness are features that are desired among young people nowadays. The Polish school coordinating the project is located in the Silesian Voivodeship. Silesians are not entrepreneurs and they easily accept their fate. Silesia is a place where the coal mining industry dominates and coal mines are the hallmark. For decades, the people of Silesia did not need to think about how to be an entrepreneur because it was the coal mines that ensured stable work and existence. However, nowadays the situation is changing drastically, just like Silesia is changing its face. The mines are gradually closing down and young people, now in high school, can no longer count like their fathers did for a secure job in the mine. This situation is closely related with the general situation on the European labor market. Young people struggle to find a job. There is a very high unemployment rate among young people across the European Union and this difficult situation is typical of each of the 5 partner countries: Spain, Greece, Italy, Latvia and Poland. Hence, the main goal of our project is to make our students aware of the importance of an entrepreneurial attitude in life and to show the direction how to become a successful entrepreneur. The lack of a professional perspective causes the students to lose the sense of meaning and agency in their lives, which directly affects the motivation to learn. We wanted our students to understand through the project that they have an impact on their future and that its quality depends mainly on themselves. Western culture does not pursue entrepreneurship, but through the media it creates a false sense that everything in life can be achieved easily and quickly. Entrepreneurship is responsibility. This is what we wanted to show to the participants through the project. In today's labor market, it is crucial to search for employees who have well-developed key competences and the so-called soft skills such as communicativeness, assertiveness, openness, ability to work in a team, high personal culture or good work organization. Thanks to participation in the project, participants could also improve in this area. Through the implementation of this project and related activities, i.e. workshops, lectures, study visits, meetings with specialists and mobilities, we were able to develop entrepreneurial skills among students and emphasize the importance of foreign languages in every area of life. By participating in the project, students improved their language skills, mainly in the field of English, but also Spanish. An important assumption of the project was the emphasis on the development of communication in foreign languages and the expansion of language skills in the field of entrepreneurship, economy and business. Through international cooperation, the participants of the project significantly increased the level of motivation to act and faith in their own abilities. Students developed social skills, acquired knowledge about European countries and learned about their culture, and had the opportunity to face and overcome stereotypes. The programme of the project was planned in such a way as to be based on the acquisition of practical skills by participants, i.e. self-presentation, advertising, sales techniques, etc. Activities also included problem solving and teamwork. In order to involve project participants, we invited experts in the field of entrepreneurship, visited local entrepreneurs and learned the secrets of their operation and work. We also created conditions for students in which they could see and practice their creativity many times. Apart from the visual products created and advertised by students, which are the effect of their participation in both, the local and the international project activities, the result of our project is also the development of a positive attitude to entrepreneurship among the participants, creativity in thinking, development of social skills, teamwork as well as planning and organization of work.
