Project summary

Taking into account each organisation's specific features concerning social, cultural, historical, natural heritage and the objectives defined by Europe 2020 policy, with this project we intend to develop competence and awareness in ecotourism issues, while increasing sense of responsability for preserving common values affecting human existence. Exchange of information among educational bodies together with private and public companies, through continuous virtual and real contacts, will be of utmost importance for spreading and acquiring good practice from different points of view. Learning and training will be integrated by brainstorming to analyse pros and cons of conventional tourism, to enhance the favourable impact of ecotourism on human beings and on environment. The active participation, reciprocal confrontation, respect and evaluation of individual resources and competences, will lead to the adoption of sustainable, usable, long lasting attitudes for generations to come as well. Learners and teachers will improve their expertise in engaging activities, with direct exposure to the subjects analysed via the media of an inclusive and digital methodology, to strictly accomplish 'Europe 2020 policy'. Approximately seven teachers and fifty students from each organization will directly be involved in the project, with the aid of a large number of students indirectly benefiting from their support; general school staff will also be ready to help carry out activities and solve any possible risk that may affect the success of the project. Teachers will be selected taking into account: 1) their enthusiasm in exposing themselves in the reorganization of the school curriculum; to modify the educational approach to meet with compelling, global issues 2) their experience gained from previous project's activities 3) their ability to relate school ambience and the surrounding social, economic, historical, heritage background. Students will be selected according to: 1) their school profit 2) willingness to take a challenge to improve their preparation for a future career with an eye to European citizenship, social awareness, human understanding and sense of responsability for making decisions in the respect of social values 3) strong motivation for exploiting local resources and any other means (ICT technology, use of foreign language, team work spirit) to accomplish the European objectives . The tangibile benefits will be elicited by the material uploaded on the Project's website, Etwinning platform, edModo webpage, national and international school network; it will be at disposal to look at and seek the advice for future improvement in education, social behaviour, environment preservation, for modifying school curricula, increase professional preparation and personal satisfaction of both educators and learners.
