Project summary

The topic of the project is “Learning and teaching without limits”. In our project we would like to support and to point at traditional methods which are approved in the educational process for a long time. We want to eliminate the situations in which the student is not motivated enough and he/she is only the passive receiver of the information. We will emphasise creativity, individual assumption, communication and presentation skills and the ability to work in a team. We want to support the idea of open education. Imagine the ideal school which students like to attend, where teachers who love their work teach and students who love learning educate. Each school can be like this. We want to inspire teachers and introduce trends in education to them, make new modern educational materials prepared within the project accessible to them. We want to attract students and teachers by the innovative ways of teaching and to form space in which it is pleasure to learn and teach. We want to increase the image of all participated schools in this way. There are four partner schools involved in the project: 1. Gymnázium, Kukučínova 4239/1, Poprad, Slovensko 2. Kaunas A. Pushkin gimnazium, Litva 3. Gymnázium, Praha 8, U Libeňského zámku 1, Česká republika, 4. Gladsaxe Gymnasium, Dánsko. Students involved in the project will be at the age of 15-18. During the realisation of the project we will organise various activities. They will be focused on mutual education of teachers and students and changing their experience. Each partner country will choose traditional and innovative methods which they prepare and integrate into the classes of minimum 4 subjects. The lessons will be realised during mobilities and each partner will test them in the period between mobilities. We will realise workshops where students and teachers will work in international teams to complete partial as well as final outputs. Inseparable part of teachers´ workshops will be sharing experience in the sphere of formation of teacher´s portfolio. Another activity will include complex analyses of the lessons which will be realised not only by teachers, but also by students of all partner schools. Their comments will be included in outputs – methodology, worksheets and application. Each partner school will organise a cultural evening aimed at introduction of the country, its culture and traditions. Students will gain and digitally process the information in the form of photos, videos and application outputs after seeing the interesting historical, cultural and natural places in the partner countries. Methodology used in the project will contain planning the activities, their realisation and the project outputs. Realisation will be focused on exchanging experience and testing traditional and introduction of innovative methods (ICT method, blended learning, CLIL, team cooperation, the use of digital educational content, RUR method, INSERT method,...) to the lessons. Via lessons teachers will get to know other methods, students will try work of a teacher and join the teams working on the formation and testing new didactic materials. All outputs of the project will be accessible free of charge as open educational sources. We will find out in the survey (questionnaires) which educational methods were inspiring and motivating for students. Project outputs will be: didactic educational aid for teachers (methodology) and worksheets (for teachers and students), their printed form, the map of visited places in Google Earth, website about the project on the platform of e-Twinning, project logo, application, short video films with demonstrations of work with ICT, photo album with photos of individual project phases, conference, video film of the project, questionnaires evaluation worked out by project participants. After the project finishes, communication among teachers and students will continue on the platform of e-Twinning. Teachers will use competences gained during the educational process. Created methodology will contribute to making lessons more attractive and simplify teacher´s work. Using open educational materials will help improve digital skills of teachers and students, their motivation and self-confidence in learning and teaching. We suppose the improvement of communication in English, increase of European awareness, getting to know new cultures and traditions and strengthening team cooperation. We think that all activities in the project as well as after its finishing will change the view of students and public in general on the profession of the teacher. We are sure that via the project we will contribute to the increase of the image of each school participated in the project.

Final report summary

Project Learning and Teaching without Limits was targeted to be an open and innovative approach in a digital era. The main project objective to exchange the information about traditional approved forms of education, to extend the basis of innovative methods, and support the international cooperation between students and teachers has been fulfilled. In the project, the students and teachers from Gymnázium U Libeňského zámku in Prague, Kauno Aleksandro Puškino gimnazija in Kaunas, Gladsaxe Gymnasium in Kopenhagen a Gymnázium in Kukučínova Street in Poprad met. Each of the partner schools prepared the short exchange of students for cooperating schools with the theme having agreed on in advance. During mobilities they realised the lessons and introduced the trends in education to each other, they shared and exchanged the educational materials, which were prepared within the project. Within common workshops, these materials were analysed and evaluated, then each partner verified them between mobilities under the conditions of their schools. Not only participants involved in the project but also other students and teachers of partner schools were motivated by different activities for students and various workshops for teachers so that they prepared the model of the school where students and teachers attend with joy, elan, and enthusiasm because they like teaching and learning. During the realised mobilities in Kaunas, Copenhagen, and Prague we had nice impressions from common cultural evenings targeted to introduction of the country, its culture, and traditions. But pandemic Covid – 19 hit our project too. The last mobility in Slovakia was not held „ face to face “, but we were in contact with our partners virtually during distant education, too. During that time, we had to cope with a lot of obstacles. Despite this fact, we managed to work out the final project outputs and to direct our project to a successful ending. The methodology brochure contains different forms of the lessons, verification of traditional methods, and introducing innovative methods to education. Via these lessons, teachers got to know other methods, students tried to work as teachers and joined the creation and verification of didactic materials. Lessons in partner schools were verified between mobilities and we worked them out in the methodology brochure. This methodology is published in printed and electronic forms. In this way, students could try the advantages and drawbacks of the teachers´ job. Using questionnaires, we found out that students considered innovative methods more inspiring and motivating. We regularly published all the materials which we obtained during mobilities on platform e-Twinning and social networking site Facebook. We tentatively recorded outcomes from particular mobility, students´ work with applications, video films, photos, and other materials. Students shared and exchanged their experiences from the short visits in partner countries and they communicated together in the time between mobilities on Facebook, through emails, or on the phone. They were getting better at English not only during mobilities but also using different platforms or forms of communication between them. During the whole project students in all partner countries collected teaching materials, information about a particular country, and visited places, they created short videos and recorded tracks. All the visited places and tracks are worked out in a digital map in Google Earth, which was prepared by the Czech partner. Danish partner presented a project webpage on a platform eTwinning, which also involves created materials. Students from Gymnasium in Kaunas made a film about a project using the short videos made during the whole project. The Slovak students assembled and prepared the application for mobile devices with interesting tasks and questions about the partner countries and visited places. This application will serve as a great help during the lessons not only for project participants but also for other students, teachers, and the general public within the project dissemination in the future, too. All the project outputs are freely accessible as open educational sources and they were presented at the final online video conference in medium Google Meet. All the partner schools represented by some of their students and teachers took part in the conference. At the conference, each school presented its final product, which was prepared during the whole project realisation. The Czech Republic presented visited places in Google Maps and their Facebook project page, Slovakia showed an application called LTL Slovakia and Methodology brochure, Gymnasium in Lithuania played a film about the project and Danish partner showed the project page on eTwinning platform as well as evaluation of questionnaires from all the mobilities and realised activities. In conclusion, the work on the project was a benefit for both students and teachers. We will be using the created open outputs during the process of education at all schools. We have made partnerships and friendships, improved communication in the English language, got to know European cities and tried new methods at teacher´s work. We have improved our ICT skills and work with digital technologies in nowadays´ digital era. Students have learned to think creatively, work in teams, solve problems and within exchange visits, they have experienced an enjoyable time and get to know new people and the culture of visited countries.
