The current and future projects in the school should be supported by the newly gained insights and experiences. The need to meet the challenges of digital tools and media, to be up to date and to offer the pupils modern and motivating lessons was also great. In order to do this, the teachers have to deal intensively with the topic of digital media. At the same time, the school was ready to open up in the European context and to enable mobilities with pupils in order to promote encounters with peers and intercultural exchange. This was to help prepare young people to operate in an international environment and acquire cosmopolitanism. A special focus here was on strengthening the upper school, because projects in which pupils can be active internationally should prevent many pupils from leaving school after the lower school.
Due to the ever-increasing importance of digital media, cooperation with other school institutions throughout Europe had become possible. We were aware of the opportunity to exchange and benefit from each other in a European context. Digital competences have now been anchored in the Austrian curriculum and are constantly being developed. Our school wanted to increasingly integrate digital competences into the lessons as well as to promote and integrate projects in a European context. A first KA2 School Exchange partnership with France was submitted and implemented in parallel with this project. With the help of staff mobility projects, the necessary know-how was to be acquired and passed on. The expansion of digital media and the knowledge about it in connection with innovative pedagogical methods as well as creative and drama pedagogical teaching methods were other important points to be covered by courses. Through this project, more teachers at our school should become interested in intercultural activities. In addition, the creative focus was strengthened, which now also exists in the upper school.
