Objectives

The aim of this project is to offer high-quality internships abroad. Quality improvements in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and follow-up of the internships should be achieved. The participants' competences in the field of social and personal competences as well as professional knowledge and skills should be promoted. In particular, foreign language skills were to improve employability and facilitate future access to other European education programmes. The aim was to awaken in the pupils a lasting interest in and desire for lifelong learning and to prevent them from dropping out of school prematurely. Another aim of the Waldorf schools is the project participation of pupils with disabilities in order to promote equal opportunities and inclusion at the Waldorf schools, to facilitate their social integration and to promote a European awareness. Improving European cooperation between Waldorf schools and European host partners contributes to the internationalisation and competence building of teachers and staff in schools and enterprises.

Background

The Waldorf schools in general consider it as their responsibility to support the pupils in the development of their individual personality through lessons, special offers and in interacting with each other. Talents and abilities are fostered in a diverse learning environment. Openness to the world, initiative, tolerance, a sense of social responsibility, the will to form and renew society as well as creativity should be characteristics of the Waldorf pupil in life. The offer of learning mobilities in the form of high quality internships abroad in the field of agriculture, in companies and social institutions support occupational orientation, personal development and expand the knowledge, skills and competences of the upper school pupils in many ways. Internationalisation of the institution helps to cope with the challenges of the future working world, where flexibility, foreign language and intercultural skills are required. Especially nowadays, experiencing European mobility strengthens the awareness of European values and the perception of cultural differences in the countries visited.
