Objectives

The main goals of our cooperation and the mobility project are: - We want to gain a deeper understanding of the framework conditions and the main steps that have made it possible to introduce validation in France and the Netherlands so in France and the Netherlands. - We want to gain knowledge from this for a broadening of the validation approach with a focus on EQF 6+ and additionally specifically for nursing professions in Austria. - We want to get to know the methods in more detail, which make it possible in France and the Netherlands to carry out validation also at university level or at the competence level EQF 6 to be carried out. - We want to compare our methods of validation ("Du kannst was", engineering certification, WBA certification workshop, BOKU continuing education) with the example of validation at the Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne and discuss the commonalities with those responsible at the Sorbonne. - We want to gain starting points, especially from the Netherlands, on how the validation of nursing professions can be established quickly, cost-effectively and with high quality in Austria.

Background

The Chamber of Labour Salzburg, the BFI Salzburg and the Academy of Continuing Education Austria/WBA are among the most important pioneers in Austria in the recognition of non-formal and informal learning. The University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) is one of the few university institutions in Austria that deals intensively with validation. With the project "Du kannst was", AK and BFI Salzburg make it possible for people with work experience but without a corresponding apprenticeship diploma to catch up on their vocational qualification by way of competence recognition. All four institutions participated in the ERASMUS+ project "Transnational Peer Review for quality assurance in Validation of Non Formal and Informal Learning (VNFIL) Extended" from 2015 to 2018. As a consequence of the project, Franz Fuchs-Weikl underwent a validation process in France. This was an opportunity to learn about validation from the candidate's point of view and to establish contacts with validation experts in France. Our partner Libereaux is one of the leading validation providers in the Netherlands. This know-how is doubly valuable for AK and BFI, as the validation of care workers is developed in Austria.
