Our main goals were for our participants to sharpen their language skills, to boost their self-confidence, to increase independence and tolerance between different cultures and life styles, to put theory into practice, to understand different business practices, try out job mobility in the EU thus motivating them to consider applying for a job abroad at some point in the future and to increase their job and career chances through the acquisition of the Europass Mobility document.
This project was a work placement project abroad. We applied for this project, because we have done several projects like this before and we have always been pleased with the results. Also, prior participants gave us extremely positive feedback. Furthermore, a work placement project in an English speaking country fits well with our school's focus on boosting our students' English competence above and beyond the regular state-required level. This work placement project that was offered to students in their graduating year (Flow 1) or the year before they graduate (Flow 2) presented the finishing touch in this effort.
