By implementing this project we sought to provide our educators with the necessary training to meet the needs of our learners. We had three primary objectives: SUPPORT STAFF TO BE MORE ASTUTE, INSIGHTFUL, & STRATEGIC Develop our ability to train learners to understand the complexity of enacting change. Develop our networks and connections to assist learners to respond with relevance and influence, while also being able to offer them increased scope for transnational collaboration and strategic impact. SUPPORT STAFF TO BE MORE INTEGRAL / HOLISTIC: Build understanding in holistic approaches to learning so that change can take root in long-lasting and integrated ways. Honour the personal, organisational & social levels of our experience to enable effective collaboration. Learn how to attend to personal and organisational resilience, as well as the relationship between the success of our Climate Justice focused projects and the health and cohesion of society as whole. SUPPORT STAFF TO BE MORE CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE: Improve the quality and impact of our trainings, by acquiring innovative pedagogy to diversify our approach and multiply our effects in supporting active citizenship and strengthening responsibility of wider society.
Global2000 (G2k) is an independent environmental organisation, using adult education as a key method to empower communities to respond to climate change. Looking to the Europe 2020 strategy priorities we see a strong coherence in terms of our wider aims and goals; -Growth that is 'smart, sustainable and inclusive'. -Efforts to meet the 20/20/20 climate/energy targets. -Steps to address poverty and disadvantage. We run trainings, design educational projects, and form collaborations to offer strategic opportunities to individuals and organisations who need them. In recent years we have sought to improve the quality and reach of this adult education work, as it is core to what supports effective change. Through staff training, an initial Erasmus+ KA1 partnership in 2018 with the Ulex Project sought to support us to build on the following; cross-sector collaborations; endurance and capacity; diversity and inclusion; educational leadership and internationalisation. Subsequently, we considered it essential to continue our cooperation to holistically deepen our knowledge and skills and thereby increase the quality and reach of our educational work.
