Objectives

The objectives were twofold: the job shadowing activities were supposed to enhance individual team members' skills by introducing them to new methodologies; while the structured courses and training events were meant to lead to more theoretical insights into the international community work discourse. Through both activities we wanted to strenghen internatioanl connections and pave the way towards new cooperations. It was also an objective to involve staff members of the Volunteer Engagement team within the community work department. Involving volunteers in community arts actions has been an ongoing goal within the department and this project was regarded as a way to connect and share knowledge and skills within the different teams in the department.

Background

Through this project we mainly aimed at connecting the department of community work with other institutions on the European level, international exchange of knowledge and experiences, staying up-to-date and keeping the organisation's role as forerunner in the field of cultural social work ("KunstSozialProjekte") in Austria, and gaining new insights into how to bring volunteers into community work actions.
