Objectives

With this youth exchange, we want to strengthen the online active citizenship of young people. We want to empower young people to edit Wikipedia articles around female peace activists, i.e. empower them to get involved in online activism, to discover and go deeper into peace topics as well as to build up a strong bond between people from different European countries. Our objectives are. 1. Promote young people’s online active citizenship and increase their participation in the open knowledge and the peace movement 2. Foster mutual understanding and solidarity between young people in different European countries 3. Be a pilot project for other European organisations in the Wiki and SCI movements to organise international youth exchanges around Wikipedia editing and to work with the Erasmus+ programme around Wikipedia 4. Make more and better quality content around women activists and the European peace movement available online in English, German, Spanish, Armenian and other languages spoken by the participants 5. Promote European values of democracy, human rights, gender equality and non-violence 6. Empower young people to take their learning in their own hands through non-formal education methods and informal learning 7. Create a fun and informal space for young people to improve their ICT skills 8. Involve more young people of all genders, especially more women, into Wikipedia editing
