Objectives

Campaigning 4 Peace Venue: Vienna, Austria Duration: 5 days 07.-11.10.2019 (excl. arrival and departure-day) Partners involved: Youth for understanding Turkey, Solidarites Jeunesses France, Compass Hungary, The Starry Start of Talents Foundation Bulgaria, SCAMBIEUROPEI Italy, LINK Italy, Zavod ODTIZ Slovenia. Grenzenlos was celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2019 and is running international projects and exchanges since then. The Grenzenlos board of managers decided a theme for the years 2018 and 2019: “Peace Work”. Part of this decision comes from our definition as a Peace Organisation and are as Official Peace Messenger through our network ICYE (www.icye.org). The training was part of a bigger strategy on promoting peace and the contribution of volunteering to it. In October 2018 we implemented a first Erasmus+ seminar “Volunteering as a tool for Peace?”, where we discussed the meaning of peace, volunteering and their relation in our different activities. In May 2019 we worked in a training on how voluntary organizations can support their volunteers to become peace messengers. A training that aimed to bring different tools into practice. As a last step we wanted to explore together with our international participants and partners, how we can implement peace campaigns within our existing projects and activities. Aims and Objectives: + To promote peace and fight against hate speeches. + To promote peace work within international volunteering projects. + To give youth organisations methods on how to design peace campaigns and no-hate speech campaigns. + To give participants and youth organisations involved in international voluntary projects tools to stand up for a peaceful society. + To have fruitful debates and learn about peace work among young people from all over Europe Grenzenlos has an inclusion focus within all our projects. Therefore, this training was accessible for participants with physical disabilities. Through reducing the participation fee for participants with disabilities we increased the number of participants with disabilities in the past years. This training course ensured the quality and help to support the visibility and dissemination of voluntary projects.
