For this Erasmus + project, the non-profit organisation Muzaïka and their singer Raphy Rafaël join forces with Belgian, Turkish, Spanish and Romanian partners to create a choir. The choir will sing songs created by itself on the theme of difference as well as songs from Raphy Rafaël. These songs will be used as support to teach the children music, how to act on stage, to improve self-confidence and especially to help the integration of people with disabilities. Working with music will allow people with special needs to develop their strength and will help international and human exchange. The created songs will be included in several concerts (one in each country). The participating children from each country will be represented each time in the choir. This concert will present the progress of the work and will allow to share the message of the songs with the local public. The last concert will be the presentation of this work and will be recorded so that each child can have an audio memory of this project in which he participated. This project also aims to facilitate the learning of singing in schools and to improve its quality. For this, an educational file will be made using the experiences of participating teachers and classes.
The non-profit association Muzaïka regularly sets up song workshops in primary schools. Raphy Rafaël offers them his repertoire of songs that arouse multiple emotions in children, adults and families through their messages of openness, tolerance and love. Our Erasmus+ project allowed the partners to sing a choice of these songs, to create others which they shared with the children/young people of the other partners. This allowed the children/educational teams to develop aptitudes/competences around songs, to open up to emotions and to be a great means of emancipation/openness to other cultures/languages/religions/worlds of the arts. The songs created in the 4 languages of the project were sung by the children of the different countries during local/regional concerts, at each stage of the evolution of the project. The objective was to perfect/refine their interpretations on stage to end up with a final show summarizing this whole process. Lived experience from within enhancing their musical, emotional and linguistic skills/abilities, which contributed to better social cohesion locally, nationally and internationally.
This project was built on the achievements and successes of the previous "Song and Inclusion" lived from 2017 to 2019. This with the aim of going even further and more in depth in the practice of singing, voice, song creation, to benefit as many people as possible - children as well as adult participants. These people who have experienced a unique project will then be the best ambassadors of singing practiced in groups/together.
