By implementing the goals set and the experience gained, we aimed for growth: a stronger and more inclusive school from the use of team teaching in our primary school. It was always kept in mind that within education no distinction can be made in terms of religion, origin or disability. The following steps were taken for this evolution within De Ark primary school in Maldegem: - shifting the classical vision of education to the vision of an inclusive school - the structural introduction of team teaching in primary school - getting to know and transferring new didactics and educational vision to the current school and classroom culture - after implementation, also propagating and trying to extend the new educational vision to the secondary department of the school - dissemination of own experiences and results to other schools within the school community, guidance service - more efficient classroom, learning processes and evaluations to achieve better results.
The main goal for this project was 'Growing towards a stronger and more inclusive school where we want to use team teaching as a tool' Of course, there was also ample attention for a number of secondary goals for the teachers: Gain insight into the preconditions to be able to organize efficient team teaching - Time management: how to monitor time in preparing and evaluating lessons - Which didactic material lends itself to team teaching? - Which classroom organization lends itself to team teaching? - How do you set up the school building in function of team teaching? - How do you design a UDL (Universal Design for learning) lesson? Gaining insight into the application of the different forms of co-teaching and evaluation, adjusting in function of increasing the learning effects of the students. With regard to the care coordinator, we strive through diy project to: - Develop competencies to strongly support teachers in co-teaching - Acquire knowledge of how care work can be done even more integrated in the classroom to promote the learning and participation of every student in order to achieve inclusion - Explore and learn how digital tools are used to empower teachers
