I thought it was a good idea to get to know the way of working better during a job shadowing in the Valteri center and to be able to compare it with our way of working. I made this request very consciously because changes are afoot in our support system. By collaborating in another system and critically examining both systems, we may already be able to adjust our own way of working. Their way of working differs from our way of working. Finland strives for the greatest possible inclusion. Because our education system is also thinking about striving for a greater degree of inclusion, I feel better prepared for this now.
In our previous Erasmus+ project SEN live digitally, one of our partners was the Valteri school Mäntykangas in Kuopio (Finland). They work closely with The Valteri Center for Learning and Consulting. Schools and children in mainstream education can get support from this center. It is an organization that strives for the greatest possible integration of children with disabilities in mainstream education. In our school, we also work together with schools in mainstream education through the support network.
