Objectives

Specifically for this project, we want to further professionalise our teachers around the theme of Project Based Learning. We already had some experience with this in the past where we noticed that this approach, which is very hands-on for the pupils, improves both their motivation and the results of the pupils. Whereas the approach was initially based on self-study, with this project we wanted to look for ideas, knowledge and experience abroad. On the one hand, this has given us a broad view of the possibilities, pitfalls and ways of tackling PBL. On the other hand, it has also provided us with valuable contacts we can use within the context of eTwinning or Erasmus+.

Background

At Talentenschool Turnhout, we aim to allow all pupils to develop their full potential. As a result, our pupils are well prepared for further study or the labour market. In order to achieve this goal, it is important to make the quality of the education we offer as good as possible. An important factor in this is the professionalisation of our teachers. This is done by introducing them to different working methods at schools and among other colleagues, as well as by following high-quality training courses at home and abroad.
