Objectives

In implementing this project, we have worked towards the following objectives: -need for self-reliance, to have the ability to function socially and participate in society; - Need for entrepreneurship within a broad society; - Need for European thinking, to get rid of the "church tower mentality"; - Need for a salmon effect, because nowadays these are pupils from the so-called waterfall system. They often make the choice for these subject areas too unthinkingly, which makes it difficult to motivate them for activities within their specific subject area; - Need to develop language skills and meet the growing demands of intercultural and foreign language communication in the business world.

Background

With this consortium project "Fraternisation: care locally, think globally!" we have expanded our existing Erasmus projects. Already, pupils from the TSO and BSO departments went on work experience placements to the fraternisation communities of Zelzate in France, Germany and Italy. With this project, we were also able to send the pupils of the welfare sectors, of the community education centres of Eeklo, Maldegem and Zelzate, on 14-day internships.
