Objectives

As teachers, we try to involve our pupils as much as possible and teach them in an environment that is as context-rich as possible. An internship abroad fits perfectly within this story. Through this Erasmus+ project, we want to extend our internationalisation to other countries in order to expand our network and broaden our view. In this project we focus on three key competences, namely multilingualism, personal and social competence and cultural awareness. Finally, we also want to develop our cooperation with our foreign partners into a sustainable cross-border team. We feel that this cooperation is getting closer and closer and we want to continue to grow in this respect. We also feel that the connection with new partners goes more smoothly because we have a better idea of where we want to go and this can only benefit the cooperation. We would like to expand and refine our network to get a broader view of the services in other countries and in other cultures. In this way, we can also compare our own approach with other educational institutions and internships.

Background

The project is part of the Erasmus plan of our school. For our students, internationalization is a way for students to develop an open, broad view of society, to learn in a real-life setting. This allows them to practice competencies in other learning settings and many skills will be strengthened. During their stay abroad they will develop attitudes (independence, empathy, flexibility) and their horizons will broaden, allowing them to develop a broader and more critical worldview. In addition, we work on citizenship and see a greater motivation to learn. Internationalization is not only an added value for students who actively participate in an Erasmus project, but also for students who prefer to stay at Russelberg Campus. Through our operation, we not only go abroad to learn ourselves, but also bring the world into our school. We try to give every student in his/her school career at Campus Russelberg the opportunity to participate in an international project. Internationalization, meanwhile, is part of our school's DNA as we have Erasmus projects (VET+SCHOOL) running in all 2nd and 3rd grade directions.
