Objectives

The project had 5 equivalent objectives: 1) Promoting the attractiveness of Dual Learning by offering exciting international work experiences to young Dual Learners. 2) Increasing the employment opportunities of the participants by enriching and strengthening the technical and personal competences - and the own international network - of Flemish Dual Learners through their participation in a foreign internship. For dual learners who participate in an internship in a foreign language country, the development of their language skills is also an objective. 3) Raising awareness of the importance and added value of the international dimension, not only among the participants themselves, but also among their class and centre/schoolmates, and ultimately also the teachers and the centre/school management. 4) The further consolidation of the Flemish and the international partnerships, as instruments to be able to send out more and more students in an increasingly high-quality way 5) Facilitating participation in the project by students from Dual Learning with "Special Needs" (Special needs Dual Learning).

Background

We wanted to support the consortium members in developing high-quality f VET in general and Dual Learning, in particular through internationalization. We want to learn from success stories (but also from mistakes!) from other EU Member States, both at the level of the actors within the education component and within the workplace component. That is why we had to remove barriers for the above-mentioned actors by involving them directly or indirectly in mobility projects for the final target group, so that the “unknown” is already brought closer to their working atmosphere in a positive way. After all, internationalization offers the participants in the Erasdu project many advantages, such as the development of their technical and generic work competences, but also personal ones such as language skills and independence. In addition, we wanted to perpetuate and strengthen the cross-educational collaboration from the first ErasDu project. In addition, knowledge and experience was built up and shared in the partnership about planning, organising, managing and evaluating KA1 projects, but also KA2 projects.
