Specifically for the requested mobilities, we wanted to address the needs we identify in our VET-students through observations, reports, etc. With the internships abroad, we offer: ° greater study motivation through the chance of an internship abroad ° better job prospects later on after possible further studies ° enhanced competences in terms of initiative, entrepreneurship, self-reliance and self-confidence ° improved language skills for both Dutch and foreign languages (depending on the work placement EN, FR, DE, ES) ° intercultural and citizenship skills ° knowledge of study opportunities and motivation to continue studying at home and abroad ° solutions to the continuing need for lifelong learning
Our needs were situated in the area of giving opportunities to pupils with "fewer opportunities" through internships in companies, the reinforcement of VET education, practical training, professionalisation and strengthening of key competences of our teachers and school management and shaping the change process in the area of evaluation and new forms of education such as project work, CLIL and ICT-supported methods. By participating with this project "Working on key competences for 2020 and beyond" in KA1, we emphasised the relationship between: ° the different innovation processes (change in orientation of the office management/foreign language course into "international project management") ° a change in educational objectives (positive focus on motivating VET-students and increasing their chances of success) ° the implementation of new teaching techniques such as project-based working and lifelong learning (continuous development) of teaching staff) on the one hand and mobility on the other. These are (besides their intrinsic value) also a tool in the overall quality management of our school. Our intention is also to manage the international projects strategically and transparently, which will enable us to motivate our management, teachers and pupils more, improve the quality of our education and raise the level and status of our technical and vocational courses.
