Established in rural areas, the house of youth of Florennes is part of a collective of youth centers (all based on the same territory) whose challenges are to promote meetings between young people and worker and to set up collective projects responding to the issues experienced and expressed by young people. A shared analyse of the territory of l'Entre-Sambre et Meuse reports 2 major issues namely insecurity and mobility. There are many obstacles to mobility (financial, socio-cultural, cognitive, lack of service, etc.) and correlated with social and territorial inequalities. The finding is alarming and is likely to become more pronounced with the elimination of bus or train lines, due to a lack of customers in a territory where transport services are already very limited. The project “Together towards a sustainable transport”, will emphasize on the exchange of practices and the experimentation of new means of transport that are accessible to young people and that will give them independence to move freely in rural regions with limited public transport services. The principal objective of the project are : - To promote training of young people in the spirit of innovation and social initiative by using their ideas in order to address the challenges of the daily life; - (Re) discover the pleasure and freedom of mobility by exploring alternative means of transport in response to the social trend aiming at better quality of life and a more environment friendly practices; - To strengthen the exchange of experience, solidarity, encounters, and cooperation among young people and to encourage social commitment and initiative; - Foster partnership between different European countries, support good practices and to ensure their dissemination : - To promote the development and integration of young people in their social, cultural and professional life; - Development of new skills and their valorization; These objectives will be worked out during workshops, cultural outings, moments of exchange and conviviality, and by inviting external professionals. We will promote the principles of learning in a non-formal atmosphere. The young participants will be our top priority. We will do our best to answer their requests and/or needs during the stay. Several communication and evaluation tools will be set up to focus on these objectives.
