"Stage of Mind. A performance about European diversity" aims to give people between 18 and 28 years an opportunity to meet each other across borders in Lommel, Belgium to discuss personal, cultural, national and international issues related to diversity and conflict management in Europe. A certain emphasis will be put on the importance to meet and listen to people all around Europe. All the activities are planned in function of creating awareness considering the European idea and the influence and impact that we can have on this on macro and micro level. During the whole exchange the participants will make acquaintance with Human Rights, what they mean, how they are linked to the cemetery and how we experience them today in different nations and cultures. They will also be challenged to be critical towards issues like migration, war/peace and European conflicts in general. All participants will get the chance to talk about political, social, economic and/or cultural differences and problems in their countries. During the workshops the youngsters will be motivated to act and make music together and they will link that to the topics Overgrenzen wants to approach: diversity, conflict and conflict resolution in Europe. Furthermore we want to make sure that there is plenty of time for the participants to get to know each other in an informal way, especially by trying to plan activities, to let everybody feel human and wanted. We want to protect this by discussing together and giving everybody a voice/participation in the interpretation of the activities. In the end, we want all the participants to have a fun and impressing time in Belgium. They shall think about different issues from more than one point of view and widen their own perspectives.
