Our project is created to inspire the participants to think outside the box, to see there is a different way of living and respecting each other. Our main goal is to promote sociality between people with different cultural backgrounds. We want to give them a unique and unforgettable experience, the experience of a 'foreign camp'. On the other hand, we want to teach them in an interesting, motivated and fun way about their role in the present and future society. By confronting them with new cultures, habits and experiences we hope to help them in their self-development and maturation. We hope that our participants will become aware of values such as 'inclusion', 'equality' and 'dignity'. A major asset of this project is also the participation of the four Roma youth, something the Belgian Youth Association has no experience with. In this way we give them the opportunity to get to know disadvantaged people, and let them discover that, despite differences in culture, religion, ethnicity, sexual background, social capacities, health or financial status, there is still a great similarity with others. We hope that they realize that they grow up in a multicultural society where the values and norms of everyone must be respected, regardless of origin or nationality. We think that scouts have a key role to play here, as scouts is the example of great cooperation between people all over the world with the same goal. One large group of friends who build experiences together, learn to learn together, and above all: learn from each other. Both in terms of scouting skills and personality, who we are and what our role is in society. We want to make them aware that the experience they build up in the scouts is important for their adult life. We want to make them aware that learning can be fun, and that it should not necessarily be (negatively) associated with the school environment. We want to make them an unforgettable holiday!
