Objectives

[A] Game Changer is a new opportunity for youngsters. Together with the partner organizations, we want to facilitate a proces of change; we want to use the strength of group dynamics, outdoor activities and experiential learning as a katalysator behind the (co-)creation of new off-line experiences and the exploration of alternative behavior. We, nor our partners are care institutions, we will nog focus on healing, therapy or 'the' solution. We want to invite youngsters to share their stories and struggles; to experiences alternative outdoor activities. We want to invite them to co-create an outdoor activity; a 2-day hike; to take responsibilities, to challenge themselves and the group. In the end, we want to challenge them to design their own off-line game; taking in consideration the needs of themselves and others; using what they learned about their own strengths and what they need to challenge themselves. We want the youngsters to challenge themselves during the program and to (re)find a balance in their personal life. This informal learning method of experiential learning has the main objectives of giving the participant the opportunity: - To question their game and/or internet behavior - To discover and question alternative activities - (Re-)finding a balance between online and offline lives - To have a more active participation in society - To work on their self-confidence and trust in others These objectives will go hand in hand with secondary objectives, which are the practice and improvement of language skills, social skills, cooperation and leadership. These objectives are based on the experience with, and thereby the expectations towards the outcomes of, the methods which will be used during this project.
