Objectives

The project Community voices was meant to strengthen our core actions and capabilities of the LGBTI community to adapt to the rising xenophobia, homophobia and far-right movement in Bulgaria. The focus was expanding and improving the competences of the team and volunteers at GLAS foundation through professional education for adults. The longer aims were more professionally prepared community members and activists, empowered with knowledge and new skills. Through the trainings we were aiming also at the creation of vast network of people and organizations, with whom to work together for the protection of democratic principles and values in EU.

Background

GLAS foundation has experience in community organizing and training for adults and trainers, but needed to further develop its competences and the skills of its staff and volunteers. This was our very first Erasmus+ application and approved project. We mainly applied for further strengthening our organization's capabilities, educating our employees and volunteers, exchanging knowledge, gathering professional expertise and ability to communicate our activities better. It was our goal to level up the expertise of our team in the training field in order to become more resilient to the challenging environment of LGBTI rights in Bulgaria.
