"ReConnecting through Outdoor Activities" was born after the successful implementation of the project "Connecting through outdoor activities" was a great success for our organisation. All the objectives were reached, and a great team was created. The participants were actively taking part in all the activities and cooperating with each other. As a result, we had many new-born ideas for future cooperation and implementing a follow up of "Connecting through outdoor activities" was the most necessary one. In nowadays young people face many difficulties as unemployment, isolation, obesity, lack of communication with other youngsters instead of being the core and the most active part of the society. We believe that motivated young people can make a positive difference through being the advocates of healthy behaviours, as they are the most dynamic group in the society. "ReConnecting through Outdoor Activities” project is an initiative of committed young Europeans to raise awareness on the importance of healthy and active lifestyle and to encourage 108 young people to take an active part in the promotion of these principles in their communities as well. With "ReConnecting through Outdoor Activities" we will bring together young people from different parts of Europe with a big difference in their upbringing, education, and cultural backgrounds and learn about health importance and cultures during three youth exchanges in Varna (Bulgaria) and Istanbul (Turkey). Objectives: - To motivate the participants to live a healthier and more active lifestyle - To create a network of youngsters who will act as multipliers of the project results - To foster the exchange of ideas and experiences between youngsters from different European countries on the use of sports for social inclusion - traditions, experiences, habits, exploring nature, through outdoor activities. - To provide opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities to develop their skills and competencies through sport in an intercultural environment. LINK TO THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME To develop their European belonging and spirit, one needs to be involved in European activities to be able to understand the value of skills and knowledge acquired from completing an EU mobility. The objectives of the project correspond to specific priorities of the Erasmus + Program both in the field of sport and youth. The Erasmus + KA1 Youth Exchange category provides us with a perfect framework to develop our health and sport related initiatives which are created by young people for young people. With our project, we also want to raise awareness on the close synergies of the EU's youth and sports policies. We are committed to showcasing that sport, and outdoor activities can serve the personal development of young people as it was already indicated in some EU policy documents (e.g. The Council conclusions on maximizing the role of grassroots sport in developing transversal skills, especially among young people). Moreover, Erasmus+ contributes to the achievement of EU Youth Strategy 2019 - 2027, which has one of the main aims to Engage, Connect and Empower young people, by providing specific youth initiatives, targeted at young people to encourage non-formal learning, participation, voluntary activities, youth work, mobility and information AND 'Mainstreaming' cross-sector initiatives that ensure youth issues are taken into account when formulating, implementing and evaluating policies and actions in other fields with a significant impact on young people, such as education, employment or health, and well-being. The project is in line with the EU Youth Strategy in 3 out of areas: Engagement, Connection and Empowerment. ISSUES AND NEEDS: - Lack of opportunities for participation in international projects for young people with fewer opportunities - Need to break stereotypes, based on religion, culture, gender, etc. - Lack of active lifestyle of youngsters; - Lack of opportunities to move and discover new cultures, traditions, habits, places, etc.; - Lack of cultural opening; - Lack of Education about the possibility of moving abroad. - Removing prejudices amongst the cultures, based on what youngsters experience those cultures in their home countries. - Skill development among youngsters for enabling the organisation of international activities.
